Please pray for son with meningitis

Went in with an ear infection that had burst. 24 hours in A&E Wednesday and Thursday this morning said it's now meningitis. I'm so scared.

You got him to the best place straight away, it's been found early and I'm sure he'll will receive excellent care.

I know what you are going through. My son had meningitis when he was six months old, he ended up in ICU on a ventilator for four days before he luckily began to improve with all the meds they were giving him. He was in hospital for over three weeks and still poorly at home for several months.

But now he is a healthy 6ft 4ins man enjoying life with no health issues.

I pray that your son recovers as mine did.

Sending good wishes for your son, and for you. He's in absolutely the best place - my dad had bacterial meningitis at the age of 84 and the fabulous ICU staff pulled him through it. It was terrifying though.

Ds had meningitis resulting in his eardrum bursting. It released the pressure which turned out to be really important for his recovery.
Although he did get worse before he got better, he made a good recovery emerging from it all with nothing worse than a bit of impaired hearing and balance issues for a time. Now a strapping young man.

I understand the fear, it was a very frightening time. Everything very firmly crossed for your Ds, prayers for him, and wishing you the strength needed to get through this.

DS had meningitis at age 3 following scarlet fever. He had the petechial rash by the time we got to A&E. He recovered brilliantly when he started on the IV antibiotics and didn’t have to stay in hospital for too long.
