Please pray for son with meningitis

Went in with an ear infection that had burst. 24 hours in A&E Wednesday and Thursday this morning said it's now meningitis. I'm so scared.

Positive thoughts & prayers from me too OP.

My son has Men C with sepsis last month, he was in hospital for 5 days on IV antibiotics, the following week he had made a full recovery and back at school, very scary time but the hospital were great at treating him, he had the vaccine too last year so it's not always fool proof. I hope you son will also recover well, they will be monitoring him round the clock.

I should have said he's a fully grown adult. We've visited now. It's just such a shock. The hospital weren't worried too much at first he spent a day in A&E no beds available. They gave him morphine and antibiotics for an ear drum rupture. The meningitis wasn't expected. He deteriorated last night. Saw a consultant who changed his antibiotics, ordered a CT scan .

He's so poorly we're all feeling helpless. He's asleep most of the time, when awake is still in awful pain despite the oromorph.

His Wife just phoned consultant came he's having an MRI and lumbar puncture tonight. We're all so scared. He's missing the bone in his ear that protects his brain from cross infection
