Messy house/garden pics

So its sort my dump/shithole/trampy house in and out day. I'm gonna sulk for about an hour then get started.

I have a carpet which i was going to use to put on top of my daughters carpet because I thought it might help with sound proofing the floor a bit if she had double carpet. But im not sure? So I Need to think about if I'm still doing that. Or of I'm bining it.

Also in a few weeks or so I was thinking about panelling my hall and stairs. So I would need to remove the end banister I guess I should do that this weekend so it cam go on the bin as well.

I'm really pissed of about that big white unit thing in the garden.

Also I have been a massive prick. I managed to stuff 2 sofas into the shed. Now I'm scared to get them out.

I also need to stop being a prick with the washing and My room . I keep nagging the kids whilst my room is a shit hole and I don't keep it tidy for more than a few days.

Are you posting for advice, encouragement, empathy? I'm not sure what you're hoping to read.

My advice, would be - don't start panelling areas of your house until you have decluttered and tidied your house.

Forget about the shed for now. I'm just going to have another look at the photos of the garden.

NeverGuessWho · 27/01/2024 09:06

Which room is photo #1 - is that your bedroom?

Wictc · 27/01/2024 09:07

By the looks of it you don’t have an old house, so panelling would look very odd.

I’d skip the DIY and sort out the junk in your garden and shed. Also start putting your clothes away, I couldn’t stand having some drawers open, not sure why it bothers me so much!!

Alwaystired2023 · 27/01/2024 09:09

You could make some very good quick progress here OP get a bin bag for the rubbish, get a wash on for the clothes and get things put away

Let us know how you get on!

HeadNW · 27/01/2024 09:09

Have a good clean and sort before you tackle big jobs.

You could sort your bedroom out easily - coffee, music on, GO!

Mindymomo · 27/01/2024 09:10

My bedroom looks like yours and I’m at home retired. I clean it up, but a few days later it’s a mess and it’s all mine. I keep buying storage boxes, just to keep crap in, but my room is still a tip. The garden, I say can always wait until the weather improves. Now looking at it, it’s on a photo, I’m starting now.

Go for the biggest win first.
can you do a tip run ? If so break up the stuff in the garden and get rid
no? Organise an area by what you can tidy - clothes in drawers eg
then a couple of bags a time
or put all the rubbish together in the garden, tidy the rest in small goes
d Don’t do diy till your mire sorted

WhereDidTheSunshineGo · 27/01/2024 09:13

And be kind to yourself
at least your making and plan and organising to do something about it💪

NeverGuessWho · 27/01/2024 09:14

Maybe just focus on tidying one drawer at a time in the unit on the left hand side by the window?

Break it down into tiny steps, as thinking about everything all at once will be overwhelming.

Sort just ONE drawer, fold the clothes you need to keep, place them back in the drawer, and you're winning at life because that's a resounding success!

Do you have a car? If so, sort out a box and put anything that you don't wear / use from that one drawer into it, if a charity shop could sell it.

You could take a trip to the tip with some of the rubbish from your front garden - make sure you put a protective cover (bin bags?) into your boot, or you'll be giving yourself another job of having to clean the car out.

Anything that's not resellable, put in a black binbag.

You can do this - after you've done one drawer, take a break, have a brew, and tell yourself that you'll get there...you CAN do this, OP.

Shithole101 · 27/01/2024 09:16

Just to answer as a whole . There's no way I'm doing decorating/diy why I have to get rid of all this crap. I was just thinking for another tome. But also thinking of the stuff I Need to get rid of if i do decide to do theses things. As I Need it gone in one go

It would take half an hour to get the mess sorted out in the first photo but I've seen your threads before - why do you let your house get in such a state?

HopelesslyDevoted2u · 27/01/2024 09:19

Tackle one room at a time. Sell/give away anything you don't want, I find fb good for this. You'll get there

Bless. You will get there. Mine is just literally clothes to . To be honest I probably won't touch the bedroom today. Apart from maybe put a wash on . I think the rest of the house is more important. You will get there. Least yours is half in the drawers. See your half way there already 🤣💐

Are you the one that has been posting recently, I thought you had cleared the whole house?

But again, with these pictures, its just organising and tidying, putting things away, its not insurmountable.

LameyJoliver · 27/01/2024 09:24

She has about a thread a week moaning about the state of her house, does a bit, goes away, and then comes back to moan again.
It would take so little time if she simply Got On With It, instead of looking for validation all the time.
Harsh? Maybe, but there really is only so much help and advice mners can give.

The house is much better than it was . Then I had a set back and put myself on a downer. The rest of the house is reasonable. Probably needs a bit of a clean but comes under the normal bracket. It's just my bedroom and gardens that a fucked.

Don't panel your walls, seriously. Not a priority.

If it’s tricky getting to a dump or too expensive for the tip you could always use one of those metal incinerators to get rid of some of the suitable, burnable rubbish.

This would obviously depend on proximity to neighbours etc but this time of year the smoke will annoy less people.

Houses never stay tidy, it is something that needs routine in the long term. I find TV shows like ‘sort your life out’ get me motivated for a declutter and organise session.

AnxiousPangolin · 27/01/2024 09:43

I honestly don’t know what you get from constantly posting these threads because it’s not like you ever take on board any advice or make any changes.

I should have said in my op I have a skip bag. So I'm using that . I was just typing what was in my head and left out about the skip bag. Definitely no burning rubbish though. And yeah u get that about the house ors much better than it was .

That's OK you don't need to understand what I get from them. You don't need to see or understand the progress I have made. Thanks to theses threads and the people posting .

But to be fair this this seens quite negative this morning for no real reason
