How do you get thinner poos?!!

Egglett · 08/01/2024 17:38

Just NC'd obviously, but am not the poo troll honest.

I 'struggle' with bigger poos, like 3cm diameter, occasionally bigger. However they are really soft and healthy looking. I am never ever constipated and never push even a tiny bit - they just fall out. But they are aggravating the grade 1 haemorrhoids I got from pregnancy so I'd like them to be thinner to give the haemorrhoids a chance to heal properly.

So what foods can give me thinner poos?! Google only says that insoluble fibre gives you fatter poos, but I don't overeat that really.

In brief, I eat two portions of carbs a day, usually white rice, homemade white bread,.or potato. I eat meat, full fat dairy, nuts, veg, fruit, chocolate and home baking. Copious water and tea. A bottle of wine spread over a weekend.

TIA!

Missing the point of your post, but it's concerning that poo is just falling out of your arse.

Thank you for making me laugh out loud.

INeedAnotherName · 08/01/2024 21:06

I find that when I get constipation my poo widens to an eye wateringly amount. They are likened to WW2 sea mines. I get normal width when I poop more regularly. So aim to go twice a day. Treat those piles properly too. Germaline or anusol are okay to start with, but you do need to start.

And a £2 coin is on the small size for me, twice that size is the one that causes the tears Confused

ForeverDelayedEpiphany · 08/01/2024 21:09

I have to say that having been silly enough to eat a whole bag of dried prunes at work once (luckily I could access the loo easily 10 minutes later!l, I am pretty sure good quantities of dried fruit will soon have you "crapping through the eye of a needle!" as one of my relatives likes to say..! 😅😉😬

My husband has sloppy ones twice daily. I tend to give birth to babies arms once a week. We both eat the same though. I think we have "our own poo" and then if something is wrong it's identifiable to us iykwim. The only times it falls out is when I have diarrhea though.

Honestly I think your measurement is off. Regardless the issue is impacting your life so I think you need treatment of the haemorrhoids rather than wasting your time attempting to narrow your waste.

This was so well written and worded that I literally guffawed very loudly and nearly woke up my DD that is trying to get to sleep..! 🤣

Honestly OP, im sure you don’t mean to show off but I feel very inadequate now. As well as aiming to be the perfect wife/mother/employee, I now need to aim for perfection when using the toilet…🤔😄

I'm very sorry! If it helps, I'm a wholly inadequate employee 😁

It's not size but consistency that matters. As long as they're soft, they shouldn't upset your piles. Fluids, fibre and no straining.

If your bowel movements are already quite healthy (and it sounds like they are) you might be better off treating the haemorrhoids with something.

This, definitely.

This thread has made my day 😂
OP I have a small but easily irritated haemorrhoid and I find that it's irritated by the frequency of poos and the wiping, rather than how big the poos are. I think if they are already really soft, it's not likely to be the width that's irritating your piles. Each time you poo, the haemorrhoid gets pushed out again - which makes it more easily irritated, especially by then wiping. And softer poos will require more wiping than harder ones. and of course a hard or huge poo is probably not going to help, but it sounds like yours are already really soft so I don't imagine getting them even softer will make any difference.
Have you tried wiping with wet wipes? I find that less irritating, less actual wiping needed, and also the coolness of the wipe feels nice on it!

Get to the GP and get some steroid cream to treat them properly - that helps a lot.

Bloops · 08/01/2024 21:35

😂😂😂😂

StinkyWizzleteets · 08/01/2024 21:36

I’m still shocked some think 3cm is large diameter 😱

This is good advice. You really don't want to be pooing more op.

Aquarelles · 08/01/2024 21:38

Am I the only one who doesn't look at my poo after I've been? Confused I couldn't tell you what size they are. I just put the lid down and flush.

SquishyGloopyBum · 08/01/2024 21:39

I gave birth last week. It was huge. I've had much smaller erect penises up there....

SquishyGloopyBum · 08/01/2024 21:39

(I mean to a poo, not to a baby!)

On a serious note, you should be checking them. Not necessarily for size and girth but early bowel cancer can be detected by changes in your poo.

PoinsettiaLives · 08/01/2024 21:41

When did you have your baby? Poos like a can of coke are a well known feature of post-vaginal birth life. They do go back to normal after a bit.

Blueblueblueblueberry · 08/01/2024 19:43

Doesn’t poo just come out the size of your bumhole? How would it come out smaller than your bumhole?

I need to grow up but this post and the spaghetti measured have tipped me over the edge Grin

I have no idea what other people's poo sizes are so I don't know! 😆 Is 3cm diameter normal then?
It doesn't really matter what's normal though to be honest. 3cm is too big for me at the moment until the haemorrhoids go away properly.

New fear unlocked I'm now worried that my 💩 is massive and not normal 🙈

Prune juice, too. I really like prune juice, but I learnt quickly not to drink too much in one day... it is effective, I will say.
