How do you get thinner poos?!!

Egglett · 08/01/2024 17:38

Just NC'd obviously, but am not the poo troll honest.

I 'struggle' with bigger poos, like 3cm diameter, occasionally bigger. However they are really soft and healthy looking. I am never ever constipated and never push even a tiny bit - they just fall out. But they are aggravating the grade 1 haemorrhoids I got from pregnancy so I'd like them to be thinner to give the haemorrhoids a chance to heal properly.

So what foods can give me thinner poos?! Google only says that insoluble fibre gives you fatter poos, but I don't overeat that really.

In brief, I eat two portions of carbs a day, usually white rice, homemade white bread,.or potato. I eat meat, full fat dairy, nuts, veg, fruit, chocolate and home baking. Copious water and tea. A bottle of wine spread over a weekend.

TIA!

I really do read some shit on here😂

Sorry, that wasn't helpful, just had to be said 😁

How do you know the size?! Spaghetti measurer?

A lot of people are pretty good at guesstimating sizes by looking at something - it's not hard to know what 3cm looks like :)

Egglett · 08/01/2024 20:24

3cm is reasonably big I would have thought? Apparently 3.5cm is the largest your anus can comfortably stretch to without risking injury. So 3cm is not far off! My job involves very accurate measuring so I'm confident I can tell how big it is 😆

Missing the point but witch Hazel is good for reducing hemorrhoids, dries them out, put some on a tissue and wipe it over the area when you go to toilet

existentialpain · 08/01/2024 20:28

I would say 3cm is v large...mine are 2cm max. I'm surprised that so many people here seem to think 3cm is tiny. It makes me wonder what they are producing! My useless so called economical toilet struggles enough to dispose of mine.

Well it can definitely go past that size, most child birthing women suffer rectoceles and other issues as you know since you already stated you have bum issues.

Lynsey5 · 08/01/2024 20:29

Fiber bulks up the poo so you should aim to minimise fiber. White bread and rice are good. You say your poos are already soft so eating less fiber hopefully should not cause constipation. Have you tried sitz bats or even 5 minutes of warm shower on the area few times a day ? I find even once a day warm showers very helpful with constipation. On a bad day ice helps as well.

Guavafish1 · 08/01/2024 20:31

prunes, figs and dates! They will never be long again

KimKardassion · 08/01/2024 20:32

Tomorrow I am going to ask everyone how big their poos are as this as made me truly question if mine are too big compared to average.
I am getting the bus to work tomorrow and I work somewhere busy so my day will be interesting!

GoodVibesHere · 08/01/2024 20:34

3cm is like roughly a 5p coin isn't it?

That’s what I’m picturing

Definitely not! 3cm is bigger than a 50p.

Three cams is more like a £2 coin.

Berryberrywintermedley · 08/01/2024 20:44

I've heard it all
You can't thin your poo out 🤣

pickledandpuzzled · 08/01/2024 20:45

Hahaha all this confusion because no one actually knows what 3cm looks like.
just over an inch, for oldies

purplecorkheart · 08/01/2024 20:47

Honestly I think your measurement is off. Regardless the issue is impacting your life so I think you need treatment of the haemorrhoids rather than wasting your time attempting to narrow your waste.

BobnLen · 08/01/2024 20:49

3cm sounds fairly average and certainly bigger than 5p

Might be worth trying Lactulose - very low risk and should be available without a prescription for adults at any pharmacy.

I agree. Lactulose is more like a food supplement. It's just an insoluable sugar which draws water into the bowel and makes everything softer. You might get very soft bowel movements / almost liquid but I think that's maybe what you need to give yourself a break?
Available over the counter in pharmacies.

BobnLen · 08/01/2024 20:54

OP needs to be careful though taking anything too laxative as it could make the pile sore if it's too runny, you know how it hurts when you have diarrhoea, and that isn't because of size

A portion is three decent broccoli florets or 1 banana or two small clementines. I definitely average 8 a day and I'd say I don't have any problems pooing, I actually probably have perfect poo , but it's just I need it to be thinner for a while that's all.
I'll try a few of the suggestions such as prune juice and other ideas, thanks everyone!

Honestly OP, im sure you don’t mean to show off but I feel very inadequate now. As well as aiming to be the perfect wife/mother/employee, I now need to aim for perfection when using the toilet…🤔😄

MolkosTeenageAngst · 08/01/2024 20:55

A 5p coin has an 18mm diameter, so not even 2cm. A £2 coin is 28mm so thats the closestUK coin to 30mm/ 3cm if you want to use a coin to picture the poo.

Basilandmandarin · 08/01/2024 20:55

God this thread is utterly grim.

Ah yes I've just measured a 5p coin and it turns out to be only 1.8cm.

yoshiblue · 08/01/2024 20:58

Prunes are good and also get yourself a pooing stool (Amazon, but I use a small fold up stool from Dunelm). Life changing for helping you poo without irritating piles.

Suffered for years since birth, I feel your pain!
