Can anyone point to anything Sunak and the Tories have done over the past 14 years that excites them, and makes them go, I want to vote for them again?

I am excited that he opened up new ways of becoming really wealthy, such as being in a VIP lane for a Covid contract. And the fact that you can become a Lord for life , despite having a terrible track record in public life, simply by having the right connections and donating to the Tories

😂👏 is it you, Ian Hislop?
this thread has made me chuckle, OP

I am most impressed by the range and number of exciting reasons to like Sunak and the Tories. I was quite unaware there were so many and that he inspired such a loyal following.

Who are these people who say 'more of the same please' - that would be allowing water pollution, not planning any gas storage, not planning PPE stocks in event of a public health crisis, fining folks £10k for having mates round in covid whilst hosting informal abba parties at downing st, spending £400bn on Brexit with zilch in terms of benefits for most people. Bringing in vast amounts of third world immigration to cover off workforce gaps rather than have been honest before Brexit that they would likely need to do so - the state of Healthcare - the list is endless.

I can only conclude it's very comfortably off pony club in Hampshire types who go private when they can and have access to pots of cash and assets or women whose partners are in the trades and now busy doing very nicely thank you by fleecing everyone for relatively quick easy jobs due to shortage of competition. Then there are the complete xenophobes who latch onto anything immigration wise without actually comprehending the government have allowed vast amounts of immigration from outside the EU - full families needing education, health and housing- not some single Croatian girl in her 20s bunking up for 2 years in a houseshare and a bit of an adventure. These families won't be buggering off - they are here to stay and hence creating pressure on a very fragile amount of facilities

I think you have posted this in the wrong place, this thread is for excitement about Sunak and the Tories.

OP , your posts just drip sarcasm or maybe you are in need of a lie down in a dark room but ye Gods, I cannot wait for the election day and to finally get rid of these Torys, I am very excited by that.

I have voted Tory the last 2 times, must have needed my head examining, all I thought of yesterday at the sad new of Derek Draper was that I hope people remember this at the polling stations, instead of trying to protect the country from a novel deadly virus, our people in charge were too busy lining their own fucking pockets😡

Don't worry my systems have had a reboot since yesterday and I am now on fine form.

three prime ministers in 6 weeks, 10 education secretaries, 16 housing ministers
Yes the Tories do seem to be throwing everything at winning the votes of stationery printers, although I'd imagine that's quite a niche demographic

LadyWithLapdog · 06/01/2024 13:51

Exciting how they democratise jobs and everyone, however dim a Tory politician you are, however corrupt and obnoxious, you get a chance to play politics, fill your boots and stuff the HOL with your mates.

Crikeyalmighty · 06/01/2024 14:00

@jgw1 ha, ha- yep I'm excited for a total lack of planning, more bust councils and seeing the antics of a combination of posh old duffers, spivs and absolutely thick but full of self belief wide boys and gals strutting their stuff and waving their flags

flowertoday · 06/01/2024 14:05

I could be excited to see what unexpected and innovative citizen friendly policies the tory team come out with next.
Exciting and invigorating to know nothing is off limits. Someone of the calibre of Suella Braverman as home Secretary- you got it.
A drive to ensure all disabled people work from home or starve - you got it.
Migrants housed on a large prison boat off Dorset - again already achieved.
Mind-blowing what these tories can do.😚

Hi Rishi

notprincehamlet · 06/01/2024 14:55

That image of Braverman in heels standing on the tail of a visually-impaired man's guide dog eloquently captures the essence of the Tories. Who wouldn't vote for more of that?

I do find flag waving as well as dick waving exciting. I am sure that Sunak and his government will provide plenty more of both.

In my utter excitement I forgot about the at least 10 environment secretaries - to help with all the flooding.

The current holder, Steve Barclay, has had the job twice - first time round was for two months, so lots of experience there.

jgw1 · 06/01/2024 16:29

2 hours and no one has found any more excitements about the government and our beloved Prime Minister, that is a disappointment.

I am looking forward to continue paying towards his helicopter flights, wouldn't want him travelling with the great unwashed

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 06/01/2024 16:54

I’m excited to be governed by people who went ro
Oxford who don’t seem to know what ‘restore factory settings’ means😮Sespite probably heading up loads of IT companies.

Very strange

BIossomtoes · 06/01/2024 17:38

I’m still excited by the prospect of sunlit uplands - oh wait, that was two PMs ago, wasn’t it?

I am looking forward to the scrapping of Inheritance tax, it will cost the country only £7b but the benefits for Sunak and Hunt's children will be huge

I'm excited to see him on the campaign trail meeting people all the ordinary people of short stature his team have found so everyone forgets just how tiny he is!

He might like to meet my BIL (he's very short)

Exactly both are scary options. Just because Starmer isn't Rishi doesnt mean hes any better. Both are equally shit! Unfortunately there is no other viable option.🤷‍♀️

They are both better than the Johnson/Corbyn choice last election though..

I'm excited at the thought of more political high-drama e.g. three prime ministers in 6 weeks, 10 education secretaries, 16 housing ministers, multiple resignations, corruption, the word shit said out loud by those who rule us, and so on...

Life without Rishi's lot would be very dull - who wants dull?

You forgot the schools minister sticking her middle finger up at protestors. It's like a far-fetched American Netflix series. Love it! 🥰
