Anyone actually excited about a Sunak/Tory government

Can anyone point to anything Sunak and the Tories have done over the past 14 years that excites them, and makes them go, I want to vote for them again?

Ohhh also can't wait for another crisis where he can give lots of contracts to his friends so they can steal millions of pounds of public money. Yay!

Exciting times! We have floodings currently and I don’t understand why as I imagine the Government have spent money on flood defences, they are not truly running down everything around them these past 13 years. I’m excited to hear the Tory explanation, I’m sure it will be jolly and imaginative.

FishIsForCatsNotDogs · 06/01/2024 10:42

I'm excited about all the tax cuts he'll give to higher earners whilst cutting benefits for the disabled and vulnerable to the bone.

@notprincehamlet child poverty you’re worried about? Excitingly, the Tories have redefined child poverty and there isn’t any! Let me find the link

I’m excited to see how they are turning Britain into a third world economy with no functioning services or infrastructure. They’ve really been outstanding in this area.

And I’m excited by the way they blame the workers for low productivity when they don’t invest in training, infrastructure, education or well anything really. Again a stunning piece of Tory work.

RitaFromThePitCanteen · 06/01/2024 10:45

I'm excited by the general drama of the Tories and enjoy guessing who will be the next PM and the Russian Roulette of whether or not they'll crash the economy again! Quite enjoy the fact that they try their best to prevent the electorate from being able to indirectly vote for a PM via general election, (as used to the case in this country). Makes it that much more of a fun surprise when the next PM materialises. Who will it be? Will they be outwardly mental or just hide it well? Nobody knows!

LadyWithLapdog · 06/01/2024 10:48

PP mentioned the economy. I’m now paying several hundred £ more in mortgage repayments because of Liz Truss and the Tory govt economic genius. That’s super exciting when I wake up at 6:30 am to go to work.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 06/01/2024 10:54

I’m also enjoying the fact that school attendance has plummeted and Covid babies need intervention and the Tories are doing fuck all about it.

It’s great to have such investment in our children.

Humane, sensible government in the interests of the majority not just the very richest, and I for one would not want that.

😂👏 is it you, Ian Hislop?
this thread has made me chuckle, OP

Who are these people who say 'more of the same please' - that would be allowing water pollution, not planning any gas storage, not planning PPE stocks in event of a public health crisis, fining folks £10k for having mates round in covid whilst hosting informal abba parties at downing st, spending £400bn on Brexit with zilch in terms of benefits for most people. Bringing in vast amounts of third world immigration to cover off workforce gaps rather than have been honest before Brexit that they would likely need to do so - the state of Healthcare - the list is endless.

I can only conclude it's very comfortably off pony club in Hampshire types who go private when they can and have access to pots of cash and assets or women whose partners are in the trades and now busy doing very nicely thank you by fleecing everyone for relatively quick easy jobs due to shortage of competition. Then there are the complete xenophobes who latch onto anything immigration wise without actually comprehending the government have allowed vast amounts of immigration from outside the EU - full families needing education, health and housing- not some single Croatian girl in her 20s bunking up for 2 years in a houseshare and a bit of an adventure. These families won't be buggering off - they are here to stay and hence creating pressure on a very fragile amount of facilities

They’re really good at being a soap opera too. It’s harder to keep up with than Emmerdale. So many characters coming and going, dead then resurrected. Jolly entertaining. Who even has time or cares about looking after the country?

I mean the cabinet minister for education flicked the v’s or whatever. Great example for our young people (can’t remember her name there’s been so many)

RoughAsABadgersArse · 06/01/2024 11:14

OP , your posts just drip sarcasm or maybe you are in need of a lie down in a dark room but ye Gods, I cannot wait for the election day and to finally get rid of these Torys, I am very excited by that.

I have voted Tory the last 2 times, must have needed my head examining, all I thought of yesterday at the sad new of Derek Draper was that I hope people remember this at the polling stations, instead of trying to protect the country from a novel deadly virus, our people in charge were too busy lining their own fucking pockets😡

RoughAsABadgersArse · 06/01/2024 11:16

oh and I am tickled pink at not being able to access health care🙄

OneFrenchEgg · 06/01/2024 11:19

Tell me the problems with Starmer that are equivalent to a continuing Tory government? I hear all the time how they are all as bad as each other etc etc and I don't know what I'm missing,
starmer is boring as fuck, seems to swing with popular opinion and has little in the way of conviction - I don't see the corruption and self centred approach taken by the Tories though?

Unfortunately the people who were supposedly keen on pints of champagne have had to tell people that it's 500 ml of champagne they are actually keen on.

And not pints

So the tories couldn't even get that right 😅

There is the exciting opportunity for MPs on Monday to vote to increase flooding.
