I’ll be especially glad to see the back of Mhairi Black.

Isn’t she SNP? I think she’s brilliant.

She’s everything that’s wrong with the current SNP. She pretends to be working class. She once took a drag queen to a Paisley primary school. Google her name and Spiked Online.

Brilliant! Let's flog Stonegenge to Disney; charge for tea with a Royal; there's a lot of heritage here, maybe an auction or two?

I think you’ve just unwittingly put yourself in the running for next Tory leader.

So what.

She gave an incredible speech on tory fascism and erosion of human rights in the Commons. I have a lot of time for her.

Shame she's standing down.

Fucks sakes - even the Treasury are community noted for misleading information.

Think the DHSC did this week as well. Something about waiting lists being shorter. The missing context being that they were shorter than a month ago but they are actually up on this time last year.

They are also breaking impartiality rules

Notonthestairs · 06/01/2024 20:36

It's one thing for individuals to mislead - quite another for departments in my view.

Notonthestairs · 06/01/2024 20:37

"They are also breaking impartiality rules"

Absolutely. And not something i will overlook whoever is in government.

I’m gobsmacked. You think it’s appropriate to let a nasty adult performer do his act in front of wee kids. Google Flo Jo. Have a look at Scotsnet . We have no time for her up here.

Piggywaspushed · 06/01/2024 20:52

Scotsnet doesn't represent all Scots. Just as MN is pretty dominated by GC views because others are scorned.

My family all remain members of the SNP.

Given you harangued me big time when I talked about 'up in Scotland' again and again on a thread endlessly when I mentioned someone going to Scotland , I really do not feel inclined to answer you

Piggywaspushed · 06/01/2024 20:59

I'm also not going to go anywhere near Spiked if that's OK.

pointythings · 06/01/2024 21:06

I've just looked up Spiked.

No fucking thanks.

BIossomtoes · 06/01/2024 21:12

That bad?

They take money from the Koch brothers, that's enough for me.
Apart from that they're the Reform party with a better vocabulary.

BIossomtoes · 06/01/2024 21:14

Blimey, thanks for the warning. And thanks for taking one for the team.

Yes and that is just from reading the wiki page

Cornettoninja · 06/01/2024 21:19

I did give the spiked podcast a go a while back but quickly surmised it’s not really for me. Very GBeebies with their ‘we tell the truth’ vibes imho.

derxa · 06/01/2024 21:22

The feminism discussion thread Et tu Mhairi Black will enlighten you if you’re too delicate to read a Spiked article. I don’t understand this narrow attitude to reading material. You’ll be burning books next.

Do you read opposing views? I doubt it.

I read 4 articles on Spiked. That was enough for me. Calling the Epstein horrific crimes 'a never ending quest for evil' WTAF.

DuncinToffee · 06/01/2024 21:27

I read the article, not rushing out to buy the author's book any time soon,

I’m a regular Guardian website reader. It’s not behind a paywall and that’s good enough for me.

pointythings · 06/01/2024 22:00

Spiked posts articles arguing that the UK should favour the ECHR. I don't see how anyone reasonable can defend that.

Zonder · 06/01/2024 22:43

Favour the ECHR?
