@derxa I don't understand the relevance of the giraffes, but in terms of the trans agenda I refer you back to @AdamRyan 's post a little way back - trans people are part of our society and that's that. Pretending they're all sexual predators who are mentally ill is unhelpful and untrue.

But it makes me feel better.

derxa · 06/01/2024 14:12

Dawn must have read the same wiki entry as you posted. She has no common sense and is funded to push the trans agenda. As is Angela Eagle.

And I am very grateful for your correction that they are in fact bisexual. Most helpful.

tobee · 06/01/2024 15:12

Thanks @cakeorwine. I realise that I did once know that but forgot.

I thought these threads were a safe haven from these discussions. It’s very disappointing to find they’re not.

Sorry blossom i fear I started it Blush
Alternatively this little oasis of political common sense has started to be a threat somehow

Maybe posters who want to discuss gender issues can come and join us on this thread instead

Page 11 | Voting to 'Get the Tories Out' | Mumsnet

Pro Labour posters are all over this platform telling posters to vote for whoever gets the Tories out. It does not seem to matter who it is as long as...

I contribute as well. I must learn sometimes it is best not to engage.

DuncinToffee · 06/01/2024 16:31

I think you all are doing a good job with dismantling their arguments bit by bit with mere facts.

Starmes speech got them worried

This is fake though isn’t it? (Sadly)

The date is from 2010 and the heads on the political runners are very much out of date - although obvs Cameron is back for his encore Grin

Got distracted and failed to spot the new thread!

Rishi Sunak's refusal to give voters their say in May tells us everything we need to know about him and his Government

Bloomberg reporting that the Government are loosening up restrictions on local government to enable them to sell off assets.

Might mean a few less have to file for bankruptcy.

BUT obviously this won't fix long term issues with funding and adds the bonus of leaving a heap of problems for the future.

Long term decisions for a brighter future etc

Shades of thatcher all over again, selling off the family silver like spivs.

Brilliant! Let's flog Stonegenge to Disney; charge for tea with a Royal; there's a lot of heritage here, maybe an auction or two?

That includes Dawn Butler who thinks giraffes are gay and babies are born without a sex

Welcome to the politics thread derxa

I've never seen you here before, a lot of us have been on here for years and years.

Forgetting Dawn Butler, I hope you are impressed with the number of women MPs in the Labour party.

I’m quite pleased that the trans issue isn’t taking front stage (yet?) in the GE race.

As it stands there are two very vocal sides but this isn’t a black and white issue. Ultimately members of both sides are members of society as are all those who fall somewhere in the middle, I think it requires more delicate navigation than using it as a tool to gain votes would allow.

You have put that really well. I totally agree

Rishi Sunak's pensions minister is under investigation for spending taxpayers cash on Tory Party in his marginal seat

Paul Maynard broke expenses rules, lashed out at whistleblower

He spent £160k on printing-more than any Tory MP

Maynard has for years used publicly-funded constituency office as Tory campaign HQ and used taxpayer funded printing kit to produce political leaflets

Both are banned by expenses watchdog IPSA, which last night said: “In light of the additional information provided by The Sunday Times, we will be referring this to the compliance office

Notonthestairs · 06/01/2024 18:52

£160k???!!!
Flipping hell.

pointythings · 06/01/2024 18:53

I pop in now and again, cause a wee stramash and then disappear again. As for Labour women, they’re good in parts like the curates egg. People like Yvette Cooper are brilliant but I’m not that keen on the Corbyites. There are twits in all parties and I’ll be especially glad to see the back of Mhairi Black.

Saucery · 06/01/2024 19:00

Fucks sake. Another one in an area where that money could have made a difference to a significant section of the community. Chiselling, venal bastards.

Saucery · 06/01/2024 19:00

And, I’m very, very Gender Critical, for the record. But enough is enough. Come on.

BIossomtoes · 06/01/2024 19:04

Isn’t she SNP? I think she’s brilliant.
