Stoke-on-Trent MP Jonathan Gullis not seen ITV's Post Office drama as he's 'stuck watching Paw Patrol'
Tory Jonathan Gullis made the confession as he took part in the Business and Trade Select Committee’s special scrutiny session on the Post Office scandal today

He is a complete cockwomble. Wish he'd resigned too.

DuncinToffee · 16/01/2024 19:31

Badenoch's PPS Stevenson resigns as well

She is also comparing it with her parenting style

"It's the same with parenting. Effective deterrents are, by definition, fair."

I wonder where she threatens to send her children to

Oh I see Rwanda is a threat, but I thought we were told it was a safe country of milk and honey and sunny uplands with unicorns. How confusing, I really wish they would make their minds up.

DuncinToffee · 16/01/2024 19:46

Starmer's football club promotes 'visit Rwanda', so the confusion must be his fault...

EXC: Home Office quietly shelves plans to secure new barges to house asylum seekers after Bibby Stockholm fiasco

Ministers keen to cut hotel bill touted the barges as a solution but officials have put plans to look for more on the backburner

End their suffering and call a GE

So many ministers, spads, spinners and general Tories just seem utterly done...

So many leaving, standing down, moving on, updating their linkedin... etc. The fight has gone

"It is what it is", says one... in a job others would once have given their right arm to get.

Oh dear.

itsgettingweird · 16/01/2024 20:37

Not surprised to see my delightful MP on there 🙄

What was it Oscar Wilde said?

To lose one deputy Chairman may be regarded as misfortune, but to lose two may be regarded as carelessness?

To be fair, if you appoint moron's what else would you expect to happen?

To be fair he probably just can’t recall where he left them.

LlynTegid · 16/01/2024 21:20

@DuncinToffee I would not expect Harry Cole to be sympathetic, after all you would not be if your ex had married Boris Johnson.

I didn't know that until just now!

RafaistheKingofClay · 16/01/2024 23:07

I wouldn’t say the fight has gone. There does seem to be a lot of fighting going on.

On news I glimpsed last night while in bed, unless I was dreaming they said no more chuckle brothers double act for Lee & Rishi, showing photos of them laughing together.

Yes! I saw that!

jgw1 · 17/01/2024 09:26

I understand that this in part caused by Rishi's decision to raise tobacco duty.
I presume like stop the boats, cutting inflation is a one week on, one week off sort of policy.

'stick to the plan', 'stick to the plan' panicky Hunt

The R4 interviewer was great, asking all the questions that needed asking, including why he insists on calling an international court foreign.

pointythings · 17/01/2024 10:04

The R4 interviewer is Meshal Husain. She's fantastic. You could hear the eye rolls but she remained polite.

Elodie09 · 17/01/2024 12:45

@jgw1 You do make me laugh !
The situation is heart breakingly serious in the UK but we need some light relief.

"a sort of one week on , one week off policy ."
Good one.
