Complex set of documents though. Even if you can get on the site it's not easy to digest, so we watch this space I suppose.

U.S. financier Jeffrey Epstein appears in a photograph taken for the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services' sex offender registry March 28, 2017

Jeffrey Epstein: US court releases list of people connected to financier

The disgraced millionaire mixed with figures from the worlds of politics, business and royalty.

But this is not a list of people associated with Epstein. It is a list of people named by victims.
Bit rich to call others hard of thinking.

That's not what the BBC article says. "Some of those named are accused of wrongdoing, while others on the list are making allegations or are potential witnesses." Bit rich of you to insult others.

Over40Overdating · 04/01/2024 02:08

@alltootired perhaps have a read of the BBC headline handily supplied in the opening post.

The words ‘list of people connected to’ feature heavily.

GingerScallop · 04/01/2024 02:09

It's a developing story with over 940 pages. I DOUBT anyone has read all of these. Initial report from BBC
Epstein? said Bill liked them young (not surprised)
Bill Clinton got a massage (we know that already)
One of the victims say Trump didn't engage in or wasn't there (another victim might have different testimony)
In my dreams, all those that abused thr women and girls get prosecuted and loose their power and livelihoods. In reality nothing is likely to happen (wouldn't it have happened already). Its shocking how many accusations Bill C ignores and gets away with. Trump has a conviction (unrelated to Epstein) but no real consequence. Yet a minor influencer can say something on Twitter and lose their income. A 30+ year old can be hounded for a stupid comment they made when they were 16 or 19. Our priorities people!

Marie2023 · 04/01/2024 02:16

I’ve read the whole list. Those whose names have been withheld live in the Middle East and are arguing that the release of their names might cause them harm.

Over40Overdating · 04/01/2024 02:28

@Marie2023 is there any detail of the argument given as to what harm would be caused? If they did nothing more than fall for the schmoozing of a rich sociopathic criminal then the only harm is to their ego and social reputation : hardly life or death in the ME, surely?

MediumWell · 04/01/2024 03:04

It seems the only person punished so far, and likely to be punished, is Ghislaine. And while I have zero sympathy for her, it’s entirely unsurprising that the only person to be prosecuted for men engaging in sexual abuse of minors is a woman.

Marie2023 · 04/01/2024 03:05

@Over40Overdating I am not sure so would only be speculating. It could be something to do with homosexuality laws in their country. Again, just speculation.

PrestonHood121 · 04/01/2024 03:41

It will be all of the Usual Suspects of course. We all know.

KimKardassion · 04/01/2024 04:04

alltootired · 04/01/2024 01:09

From twitter.

Sadly that’s so true.
Everyone will forgot about it in a few weeks anyway.
Same as non celebrity sex offenders. There’s rarely a suitable punishment.

DreamTheMoors · 04/01/2024 05:51

KenAdams · 04/01/2024 01:06

I've given up on Twitter, it's just people mentioning celebs and saying they're on the list because they think it's hilarious.

I think Epstein was obsessed (not only with abusing young girls) with famous people. I read somewhere once that he considered Prince Andrew one of his best catches.
His address book was filled with famous names and phone numbers - that doesn’t mean he necessarily “knew” them.
He ruined many lives - mostly the lives of innocent girls. And whether they’re politicians, business titans, US or UK or of any other nationality, I truly hope that every other perpetrator burns.

Tlolljs · 04/01/2024 06:17

Exactly what I think @MediumWell

Lobelia123 · 04/01/2024 06:18

Lots of speculation online that this is what the whole fergie walking from the church with the family was about....starting to distract the public with alternative stories....and speculation that a negative Harry & Meghan story will be floated soon to draw the fire.

megletthesecond · 04/01/2024 06:24

I thought those big names were common knowledge.

Luddite26 · 04/01/2024 06:25

I think he was obsessed with getting big names into his circle as a smoke screen. All the usual on the list but I was surprised at Michael Jackson and David Copperfield.

I thought Andrew and Sarah Ferguson being at Sandringham was a big mistake by Charles. It was a bit of an up yours I felt.
As for Clinton when is his wife going to get her head out of the sand?

TinselTittz · 04/01/2024 00:30

I thought that referred to the children victims?

The article has been edited but originally it said something like "other names have remained sealed INCLUDING the victims". Can't see that sentence now though.

It's hard to imagine any new Meghan and Harry stories left to float. Certain newspapers post one nearly every day!

MrsRobinsonsHandprints · 04/01/2024 07:06

Why now? A lot of this is from 2016, and obviously lots of those in power have known for years.
Why is it being released now, who will benefit?

Because I don't believe it is being released for the benefit of those poor girls.

Exactly. And why were none of them ever prosecuted in the first place?

Newsenmum · 04/01/2024 07:23

I still can’t understand why Prince Andrew has been so protected through all of this. Makes me sick.

prh47bridge · 04/01/2024 07:29

alltootired · 04/01/2024 01:28

Agreed it is not a list of people who knew Epstein. It is a list of people accused by victims of being paedophiles/rapists/sexual abusers.
But they are rich and well connected. So people will be placed on social media to defend them and they will never be charged.

No, it is not. The list includes people making allegations and potential witnesses. Many of those on the list are not accused of any illegality.

diddl · 04/01/2024 07:32

Prince Andrew had his hand put on an underage girl's breast by Maxwell.

And didn't immediately cut all contact with her/them?

prh47bridge · 04/01/2024 07:32

Fallenangelofthenorth · 04/01/2024 00:25

"Other names have remained sealed". Some are really beyond the law aren't they? It will be like that Operation Yewtree where after a couple of years thorough investigation the only names "revealed" were dead politicians and djs.

Operation Yewtree led to the convictions of Gary Glitter, Rolf Harris, Max Clifford, Dave Lee Travis, Chris Denning and a couple of other less well-known individuals.

Indeed.

For something as serious as this NOT A SINGLE NAME should be redacted.

Whyyoulyingfor · 04/01/2024 06:51

Surprised cos I haven't personally seen his name linked before but I don't have twitter or take much notice. And I thought Jackson preferred the company of boys.
