Complex set of documents though. Even if you can get on the site it's not easy to digest, so we watch this space I suppose.

U.S. financier Jeffrey Epstein appears in a photograph taken for the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services' sex offender registry March 28, 2017

Jeffrey Epstein: US court releases list of people connected to financier

The disgraced millionaire mixed with figures from the worlds of politics, business and royalty.

"i doubt Andrew has anything over Charles. They are brothers, there's no reason why the King should not support him. I do wish all this would die down, I looked at latest news online earlier (I don't have a paper now but check headlines online), the HateMail is having a gloat as usual. Not everyone is a voyeur who enjoys scandalmongering."

Just thinking about this - there is every reason to suspect that Andrew would have something over Charles, he was such a great friend of Jimmy Saville...

Honestly, Charles must have known that more will likely tumble out about Andrew and as King he should be protecting the institution of the monarchy. The best thing he could do is insist that Andrew is never out in public or referred to by the others, and yet Andrew is creeping back in to the royal photo-calls and popping up at coronations. How very arrogant of both of them (Charles and Andrew).

I don't think this will or should die down that easily because people are rightly cross that privileged men who we were told to respect because of their achievements or office turned out to be sleazy criminals. This is a real scandal, not to be compared with your usual tabloid scandal e.g. actors having affairs and pop stars having tiffs.

Roussette · 05/01/2024 08:44

I don't either. To say... I wish it would die down comes across as finding the whole thing a bit pearl clutching unsavoury and wishing it would go away because you don't want to face what has happened.. Well... it isn't going away and it shouldn't. Because girls lives have been damaged and they have to live with that for the rest of their lives, we owe it to them not to brush it under the carpet whilst holding our noses.

MadWifeInTheAttic · 05/01/2024 08:51

Funny headlines today. Gosh, what a moral man the King is after all.

It's cute to think that in 30-40 years' time it'll be Charlotte and Louis who're sacrificed publicly in order to save the face of whichever Windsor is monarch then.

The church walk was completely tone deaf on all sides. Him and Fergie glad handling the crowds was sickening. She's a bad, she was happy to have money off Epstein.

Is Bill Gates in the list? I recalled reading that his ex wife divorced him as a result of this scandal and his friendship with Epstein.

I wondered that too.

Theunamedcat · 05/01/2024 09:51

He was evicting Andrew anyway he just doesn't want to leave (or pay for his home)

alltootired · 05/01/2024 10:31

Nobody is or was ever going to evict Andrew. It was just for good press.

CathyorClaire · 05/01/2024 10:53

I predict a whole lot of puff over an 'eviction' and it going nowhere yet again once they think it's all died down.

It's like groundhog day. Best we can hope for is it continues to spotlight Charles as the weak, dithering, confrontation-ducking fool he is.

This.
All the bickering about eviction. The letting him in because his mum has died reasons/excuses all are water under the bridge because he was at Sandringham for Christmas the end.
William should have refused.ti go and had a Chrisrmas with the Middleton's. Who wants their kids round this sort of man? Who wants to be with this sort of man. There are no elderly relatives to upset now the line has been drawn and it says acceptance.

His ex-wife did say that his meetings with Epstein was one of the factors that led to their divorce, but says there were many other factors.

Gates is not on the list.

Yes. And the sad thing is no one cares. We have already had all the 'George looks like a King in waiting before he was even 10, the 'Cheeky chappie Louis ( which his parents play up to even though hes just a 5 year old being made to do boring things) and now 'Charlotte learning her Royal role ( or in other words being 8 years old and walking to church on Christmas morning with her family) as well as the 'Just Like You' story about Kate and William at the school fete ( n the middle of winter when they have not been any school fetes for months) The Royals are already telling the press that the children will be sacrificed to the cause of continuation of the Windsor rule and they wont do a thing about it.

Roussette · 05/01/2024 11:30

Yes @Angrycat2768 and Charlotte on the front of Hello magazine and headline about how she is 'blossoming' and inside a 'special report'.

Yuk yuk. What Harry said is true. The kids are just pawns in the game of protecting the Monarchy.

And we will see more of it. The minute something a bit dodgy or ewww about the RF surfaces, there will be George playing tennis, Charlotte delivering parcels to poor pensioners, etc.

LittleTeawithmilk · 05/01/2024 11:46

Aye @Angrycat2768 I agree.

BodenCardiganNot · 05/01/2024 12:05

Charlotte on the front of Hello magazine and headline about how she is 'blossoming' and inside a 'special report'.
And a sentence on the front cover about how kind and friendly she is. Nothing is said about George being kind (I am sure he is but it's being pushed on Charlotte).

Yes. There will be a lot of playing one off against the other, and labelling them. I am sure K&W could've stopped this awful article and words and front page about their 8 year old DD if they wanted. But they didn't.

alltootired · 05/01/2024 12:30

I do not know how much say Kate actually has. William could have stopped it though.

KP issue statements and complaints to publications all the time. They threaten media companies with loss of access if they don't like what they print. Added to that, all parents have the right to protect their children's privacy. There is plenty they can do to stop things being published. They have allowed the press to get away with labelling their kids for a long time.

In the BBC article, there is no specific mention of Stephen Hawking, just Michael Jackson, David Copperfield but no suggestion of any wrongdoing. Also mention PA allegations which we already know about. Bill Clinton named repeatedly.

It’s absolutely possible to attend a party in a huge mansion and not see illegal practices going on behind closed doors. It’s probably like staying at an exclusive hotel resort, where the staff are discrete. I imagine all sorts of stuff goes on in hotels you’re completely oblivious to.

I don’t think speculation is ok - if there is wrongdoing let it be brought to light. I would prefer to be led by evidence not hearsay.

Edited

I remember from the 90s Michael Jackson talking about working with and hoping to collab with David Copperfield on visual effects for the tours and so its not a surprise to see those names together. Many names on this 'list' are/were major Hollywood players who would have legitimate reasons to interact with each other and a major producer like Epstein on a business networking level.

The 'list' could mean everything or nothing depending on the individuals motives which we'll never know.

LBFseBrom · 06/01/2024 11:22

I agree, Halloween. I haven't looked at 'the list', I wouldn't recognise most of the names anyway but we have all probably rubbed shoulders, even been fairly friendly, with dubious people at some time or another. It can be quite a shock when things are revealed about them, often difficult to believe, but it happens.

Not that long ago I saw a video of some sort of function where many high profile were present, including Margaret Thatcher, and Jimmy Saville was there, looking relatively normal for him in a dark suit, hobnobbing with those in high places. Thatcher invited him to Checquers for Christmas at one time. Had she known what he was up to in private that wouldn't have happened but she didn't, she liked him as did many others, even valued him.

Those who are up to no good will cultivate friendly associations as a cover. We cannot judge them.

John Lyndon mentioned Savile's crimes in a 1970's interview. If a Sex Pistol knew about Savile, are we seriously believing that Thatcher and the Palace wouldn't have known. They would have access to British Intelligence.

Charles certainly knew about Peter Ball and defended him.

The list is just from VG’s civil case against GM in 2016. It’s not the full list of everyone who was involved with JE.

Roussette · 07/01/2024 09:34

Ditto Andrew professing no knowledge about Epstein's arrest on sex offences in 2006. You cannot tell me that British Intelligence would not have known about this and advised Andrew accordingly. He then carried on with his friendship and after this arrest, invited him, Maxwell and Weinstein to Beatrice's 18th at Windsor Castle

Beatrice's 18th birthday party took place several weeks before her actual birthday in 2006. Epstein was arrested 12 days after the party. It is true that Andrew carried on his friendship with Epstein after the arrest, but the invitation to Beatrice's 18th was clearly before the arrest.

LadyEloise1 · 07/01/2024 10:43

Epstein with all his "medals" in that photo.
Is he aping the Royals in a sarcastic way or does he want to be one ?
Pathetic.
Mind you I think the Royals with all their "medals" are childish too.

A medal earned for valour is a different thing entirely.

Are you telling me that British intelligence would not have known? He was a dodgy character and from what I've read, both the Queen and protection services had warned Andrew about him and his activities.
As they mingled with royalty at Beatrice’s 18th, police had already prepared an arrest warrant for Epstein on child sex abuse charges and raided his Florida mansion
Eight days after the billionaire posed in a US Navy Seal uniform for this snap, he was in handcuffs
