The last few comments about SM have made me laugh!

I think this comment on his harebrained scheme nails it

I am sure this has nothing to do at all with Under 16s hating on the Tories and them being more tech-savvy than the average Tory voter and being able to find the truth behind the @Conservatives constant and incessant lies..

Notonthestairs · 14/12/2023 17:09

I'd crowd fund that.

RafaistheKingofClay · 14/12/2023 17:10

It’s not surprising that he thinks increasing the age will work given he’s so technologically inept he can’t work WhatsApp.

tobee · 14/12/2023 18:06

I see Boris Johnson has said that the current government is doing worse than he was in polling. 🤨

Not that he precipitated the decline and totally blew the chance he had gained in December 2019 then:-

From The Independent

RafaistheKingofClay · 14/12/2023 18:42

What it doesn’t point out is that Johnson became unpopular with the electorate in the wake of partygate. The party were still behind him. It was the Chris Pincher episode that made him toxic and caused the party to realise they were screwed if they didn’t get rid of him.

Cornettoninja · 14/12/2023 18:55

There isn’t a reality where he isn’t the best-guy-ever in his world is there?

can’t the mumbly fucker just piss off and carry on writing books no one reads.

BIossomtoes · 14/12/2023 18:56

I thought of this thread when the social media age popped up on my used to be Twitter feed. No surprise to see you’ve all picked up on it. How does he think it’s going to be policed?

Cornettoninja · 14/12/2023 18:58

How does he think it’s going to be policed?

His new BFF is going to tell him how. I’m going to christen them Rion. It sounds pleasingly like an element that should probably be encased in cement to prevent exposure.

Notonthestairs · 14/12/2023 18:59

I see the Government have had to row back on dispensing with a Minister for the Disabled.

Which would be a relief but it's just an add on to Mims Davies existing brief and this an obvious downgrade.

I guess 14 million disabled people count less than the woke watch gibberish emanating from McVey.

RafaistheKingofClay · 14/12/2023 19:05

Gibberish does not emanate fromMcVey. She’s the minister for common sense dontcha know.

Edited

I suggest it is a little harsh on gibberish for it to be associated with the Minister for Uncommon Nonsense.

She has swishy hair though just like stand up & fight Mordaunt, thereby appealing to voters one of them will probably be the next prime minister.

RafaistheKingofClay · 14/12/2023 19:58

I’d forgotten that we had a minister for common sense until this thread reminded me about it. How depressing.

Notonthestairs · 14/12/2023 20:01

I couldn't remember much about McVey. Sacked for breaking anti lobbying rules- but then who in the Conservative party hasn't been sacked at some point?

She seems to have had to apologise for being misleading a number of times. Well known 'firebrand' Lorraine Kelly obviously doesn't hold her in high regard. But then there you look at her voting record and it all falls into place.

Perhaps when Sunak is dethroned, there will be a swishy hair battle for his replacement. Patel and Braverman could take part as they have a bit of hair swishiness going on too.

It'll be a swish-off!

RafaistheKingofClay · 14/12/2023 20:04

Swish off is round 1. Sword holding is round 2.

Although I’m not sure letting Braverman loose with a sword is a great idea.

It may have escaped your notice that asylum seekers by an large arrive by boats, because they have no other choices.

Now we could have a sensible discussion about how the UK government could arrange alternative transport to the UK for those wishing to claim asylum here if you like?

👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Notonthestairs · 14/12/2023 11:41

The Prime Minister will not replace the Minister for Disabled People, Health and Work

Sources claim "work will be led by one of the existing ministers in the department."

Please understand 🇬🇧 14 million adults & children are now deemed undeserving of support & representation

x.com/danwhite1972/status/1735234826280550906?s=46&t=Uw4lJNwxFZFnX0Xs3doHYg

Immigration on the other hand requires a plethora 🙄

My ds is fuming about this.

He is disabled and said it's hard enough to get support without having someone advocating for us.

BIossomtoes · 14/12/2023 20:29

I just comfort myself that the end is in sight.

Notonthestairs · 14/12/2023 20:30

They U-turned and added the position to a junior minister (who already has responsibilities at the DWP). It's effectively a downgrade.
As if we needed further proof of what they think of disabled children and adults.

itsgettingweird · 14/12/2023 20:32

Notonthestairs · 14/12/2023 17:04

Not sure teens will listen to a man that can't retain his WhatsApps.

😂😂

medianewbie · 14/12/2023 20:38

14M disabled people don't justify their own Minister any more ? Bastards.

This coming year could be very long. I'm already having nightmares about November 5th November '24 across the pond

Zonder · 15/12/2023 07:16

Possible legal ban on use of social media by under-16s

😆too bad my DC are too old to be affected by this now. They would assume it was some kind of unfunny middle aged April fool.
