After 10 dyas on the rollercoaster, we now look forward to 5 more pledges and a mini budget

Someone asked this question on twitter

If Sunak has lost all his WhatsApp messages why did he bother launching a legal challenge in July to stop him having to hand them over to the inquiry???

And group chats don't disappear because one persons phone has been cut off.

My mum has left all our WA groups because when she died her phone contract was stopped.

Still have her messages in the chats. 🥰

Oh that's lovely and understandable. Flowers

Exactly

RafaistheKingofClay · 11/12/2023 17:56

I don’t think they are worried about reprehensible. They know we know about what they really think of us.

I’m thinking illegal. And not just necessarily linked to Covid. Remember all the foot stamping about who gets to decide what is relevant.

Excellent point!!!

Thanks for all the nice messages. Yes not easy but better then last years which was the first without her where I didn't think I'd ever get through it.

BIossomtoes · 11/12/2023 18:31

The first Christmas is brutal @itsgettingweird. None of the subsequent ones are easy though 💐

L1ttledrummergirl · 11/12/2023 18:33

Flowers @itsgettingweird.

pointythings · 11/12/2023 18:36

@itsgettingweird this is the bad thing about getting older - the sad anniversaries just pile up. I love the idea of having someone you loved immortalised in WhatsApp messages.

RafaistheKingofClay · 11/12/2023 18:39

I still read the ones from my sister. I used to occasionally still send them but then I remembered mum has her phone and it wasn’t really fair on her.

2nd Christmas might be easier @itsgettingweird. Although those anniversaries can be a little odd and catch you off guard when you aren’t expecting it.

tobee · 11/12/2023 19:14

I watched quite a lot of Sunak's evidence this afternoon. I wonder if he feels as tired and sleepy after giving it as I did listening to it? Still he's got a nice restful day ahead of him tomorrow to get over it. Oh no wait!

What are the chances he can recall what he is doing tomorrow?

itsgettingweird · 11/12/2023 19:51

It still always throws me when ds mobile connects to the car Bluetooth. As you go into calls list (when he calls my dad after training) it comes up with all the last calls from mum.

I have to remember it's me and not a ghost 😂

RafaistheKingofClay · 11/12/2023 19:52

Slim to none. His memory loss might explain why he shoehorned those 5 pledges into every interview like a robot. He’d clearly been practicing trying to remember them. Obviously whether they were pledges, promises or priorities was a step too far.

Yes. My DBro gets married next year and I haven't been able to stop thinking about the fact she won't be there. It's those things and that's why I love the fact her WA won't disappear where she's been part of a group.

And why it drives me insane they think we believe there's have 🙄

itsgettingweird · 11/12/2023 19:54

Theirs 🤦‍♀️

RafaistheKingofClay · 11/12/2023 19:59

Quite. I’ve changed my phone, mum has changed service provider and we both did a lot of googling / youtubing to make really really sure that everything would be transferred. And these bloody liars expect us to believe that theirs conveniently disappeared when they changed phones. And in Rishi’s case he’s supposed to be fairly tech savvy. It’s an insult.

Also explains why he has forgotten his pledges now and has some new ones.

BIossomtoes · 11/12/2023 20:19

Oh has he? I missed those, are they as good as the old ones?

Something about a brighter future in the long term.

I think it has to do with rejoining the EU.

IClaudine · 11/12/2023 20:47

Tomorrow is the 4th anniversary of Johnson's election. I hope the fact that his victory ended in shame and disarray eats away at him.

the80sweregreat · 11/12/2023 20:49

Four years ! Gosh and nobody was aware of Covid 19 about to hit anyone then either
Feels a lifetime ago

More sunlit uplands?

the80sweregreat · 11/12/2023 21:01

I often think of ' times pre Covid ' and times after Covid. Which I know is a bit dramatic really , but it has such a big impact on everything
