Anyone Heard Back From 2024 Wimbledon Ballot Yet?

Hello All

I am wondering whether I am going to be successful in Wimbledon Ballot for July 2024. My account says "You have not been successful yet" which is so far so good, obviously.

It would be good to hear if anyone has been allocated tickets yet or if there's a while to wait. I am pretty sure it was around this time last year I got my allocation email.

Thanks

I finally managed to get tickets yesterday for court 1 on day 13. There was also court 1 day 14 tickets available then too.

StacksOfBooks · 21/04/2024 20:12

Sorry on Friday, not yesterday.

SmithfamilyRobinson · 21/04/2024 20:12

I got women's finals tickets in lta resale last Tuesday! Super excited.

SlightlyJaded · 23/04/2024 19:52

have been refreshing every day since I got the link.

Can anyone tell me (from past experience) whether it is worthwhile to keep checking? Everything is unavailable/sold out.

Does that ever change from this point? Or is it queue up on the day only from this point on?

Thanks

Girlontherailreplacementbusservice · 23/04/2024 20:02

Tickets can be returned by the buyer up to the day before. As they can't be resold/passed on anyone who can't make it would return tickets for a refund so it is worth keeping an eye out.

SummerLightning · 23/04/2024 21:42

Someone needs to write a script to poll that site...👩‍💻

popandchoc · 23/04/2024 22:02

Last year it was different I got an email about resale tickets and there were loads to choose from .

Spoll2511 · 24/04/2024 23:01

there is usually good availability of returns tickets available all the way up to the tournament. Up to this point they were running other priority ballots (community, LTA) etc so there wasn’t much availability. But today around 4pm they release a large number of tickets and there were loads available for all days (except men’s finals) on Centre Court. So definitely worth checking.

SlightlyJaded · 24/04/2024 23:09

Oh bugger - only just seen your post @Spoll2511 - it looks like Centre Court Day 10 is available but when you click on it, it says 'sold out'.

Is there another 'big release' at any point do you know?

Spoll2511 · 24/04/2024 23:14

No idea tbh. But I’d check often in the next few days because it looked like today only centre court tickets were available. So I’d guess they would do the same for court 1/2 soon. And after the initial blocks I expect they will trickle in as and when people may return tickets all the way up to the tournament.

xSideshowAuntSallyx · 25/04/2024 06:16

Argh it said tickets available for Centre Court Day 1 go and click on it (only pairs as well) and it says nothing available. So frustrating.

Spoll2511 · 25/04/2024 10:43

There is currently a 30 minute wait to get into the ticket shop website, presumable because tickets have become available.

popandchoc · 25/04/2024 10:44

Just got two for court 1 Day 11.

Clerky · 25/04/2024 13:03

I click on any day that looks available to buy, select drop down for two tickets and add to basket, but an error msg appears with a red X saying:

Important Information
Sorry, there are insufficient tickets to fulfil your selection.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong or why this error msg is coming up,when it appears tgat the day and Court No are available to book(ie not greyed out)?

Can someone get tickets if they didn't join the ballet last year?

Clerky · 25/04/2024 16:00

I think you had to enter the ballot last year for this year's Wimbledon in order to purchase resell tickets now,as far as I know.

Scorchio84 · 25/04/2024 16:11

This is so confusing (to me anyway!) so if you enter the ballot & are selected do you have to pay? Also can you just buy tickets without being selected?

Clerky · 25/04/2024 16:19

If you enter the ballot and get selected and offered tickets, you have to pay for them to be able to get the tickets to attend on the day/court you are offered. You can buy resale tickets through a link Wimbledon sent those who entered into the ballot last year for this years Wimbledon. As far as I know, you won't be sent the link to resale tickets if you didn't enter the ballot in the first place.Hope that makes sense!

I didn't really like the tickets offered to me but had to buy them as heard you don't get a 2nd chance to select your own in the re sale otherwise?

Clerky · 25/04/2024 16:52

Yes,I think that would be correct,unfortunately..you get what you're given! But I'm not an authority on this, hence being on here, lol but think that would be the case that you wouldn't get the resale link if you've previously accepted your offer.

It really does thanks for clearing that up, I just assumed it was free it you were selected 😆They're obviously really sought after

Clerky · 25/04/2024 18:18

No problem! Lol,wish they were free haha...think they start at about £50 each and go up and up,depending on the court you get given and the match day. Very highly sought after..know ppl who've applied for tickets in the ballot for years and never been offered to buy any.Last year was my first try and struck lucky(beginners luck!) but this year,it seems not meant to be unfortunately 😕 Unless I can get resale tickets🤞 Still trying🙏

Girlontherailreplacementbusservice · 16/05/2024 16:48

I've just had an email to prompt me to download my tickets to the Wimbledon 2024 app. I guess this might prompt some people to return tickets if they now can't make it so it might be worth checking for resales over the next few days. Good luck to anyone still waiting.
