Anyone Heard Back From 2024 Wimbledon Ballot Yet?

Hello All

I am wondering whether I am going to be successful in Wimbledon Ballot for July 2024. My account says "You have not been successful yet" which is so far so good, obviously.

It would be good to hear if anyone has been allocated tickets yet or if there's a while to wait. I am pretty sure it was around this time last year I got my allocation email.

Thanks

Could anyone advise how you apply returns, I didn’t know that could be done thank you.
checked my account yesterday saying not yet successful.

I got some last year. You don't apply for 'returns', they contact you. Website says that first ballot draw is November. Then extra tickets are released from April. That is how I got them last year. They only offer to people who have been unsuccessful in the ballot. Not sure if they offer to everyone or if it is another random draw. These are actually tickets that have been offered via the ballot and declined. 'Returns' sold at the return/resale office are tickets that people had for the day but they have left before the end. These are then re-sold with the money going to charity, usually bought by people who just have a ground pass.

Hi, when you say resale, can you elaborate on what you mean exactly and how you bought resale tickets? My understanding is that they are very strict and open resale is not allowed. I am looking to attend (coming from Canada) and it is very tough to plan and have no idea what day you might get or even if you get selected for tickets. If there is a way to buy on a resale market, I am all ears on where and how. Thanks

I applied through the ballot and so far no news. If there is a way to buy on a resale market, I am all ears on where and how. I see people talking about Ticketmaster purchases etc but I thought all of this was not possible with Wimbledon. Only way was through the ballot for advance tickets.

I’ve only been sucessful once….had CC tickets….directly opposite royal box….on ‘mad’ Monday….. I took my MUm…saw federer, djocovitch ( wrong spellings probs!) and a ladies game…..it was glorious weather when we arrived ….wandered round….sat on hen man hill….had strawberries ….play began at 1330….at 6.30pm the heavens opened ….so we had all the excitement of the roof closing ….play resumed and all done at 8.30pm….I have never entered the ballot again…that was such a perfect day and couldn’t be bettered

LIZS · 22/11/2023 18:36

Thank you Soraya I didn’t realise that might be possibly contacted via the ballot scheme thank you.
was successful a few years ago got tickets for No.1 court was a most fabulous day.

EdgarsTale · 22/11/2023 19:21

Yes, I’ve got some for day 4. Had the email last week. Very excited.

lemonyellows · 22/11/2023 19:32

No nothing for me. Another year with no allocation. Sucks

Strawberryshortcake90 · 22/11/2023 19:37

I was offered a resale ticket in April this year so reballoting can go on for some months yet.
I declined the resale ticket I was offered (court 13 on men’s finals day).

ThinkingAgainAndAgain · 22/11/2023 19:42

Nothing. It’s been years since I got anything in the ballot - 2012, I think. They weee front row seats then, which were fantastic, but I’ve applied every year before and since.

We got tickets through American Express in 2022, the day before.

ThinkingAgainAndAgain · 22/11/2023 19:43

the most reliable way to get tickets is to get them through a tennis club, as clubs get a separate allocation.

Hbh17 · 22/11/2023 19:54

There are no tickets on Ticketmaster. There will be 2 or 3 separate ballot allocations. If you are unsuccessful in the ballot, you will be offered the chance to buy returns.
I have been to Wimbledon for multiple days every year for over 20 years, so it can be done. You only need to queue all night if you want Centre/Number One in week one. You can join The Queue early in the morning for grounds passes. By late in week two, if you can get to The Queue for 8 or 9am, you will still easily get grounds passes and Number One tickets - it's the best way to experience Wimbledon as slightly less crowded, plus lots of doubles, wheelchair, junior and veterans matches.

in this thread when people are talking about resale they are actually talking about getting tickets when you are not successful in the ballot first time around. Wimbledon do not allow resale apart from Debenture tickets. For all other tickets they check your photo ID and name on your ticket before you even get in the gate and are very strict to stop people profiteering over re-sale of tickets. There is a separate ballot for international people (living abroad) although that may have closed too.

They've actually stopped doing this now.

I've applied to the ballot every year since 2006 and never succeeded! Maybe I should take the hint!

NutellaNut · 22/11/2023 21:04

You can apply for returns up to the last day of the tournament (if they become available) and IF you entered that year’s ballot.

If you were unsuccessful in the ballot, they email you a returns booking link once all tickets have been sold. However, you have to keep checking it every day to see if something comes up. Often it does, but you have to be QUICK!I’ve got my tickets for the last two years this way. (This year centre court, last year No 1 court.)

As people can’t sell or even give away tickets if they can’t go themselves, they have to return them. The AELTC then puts the returns on the website with the date and price. If you see a date come up, you need to click ‘buy’ immediately or chances are someone else will and it won’t be there in 5 minutes. There is a certain amount of luck and persistence needed. So, if you weren’t in the ballot this year, you’re not eligible to apply, but make sure you’re in it next year!

NutellaNut · 22/11/2023 21:19

This is what you get sent by the AELTC if you were unsuccessful in the ballot…access to the Returns Ticket Shop booking link.

Mine says not yet successful

Sigh

SmithfamilyRobinson · 22/11/2023 21:48

@Hapagirl48 Ticketmaster had an allocation of 200 tickets for Centre, Court 1 and Court 3. The tickets were available the day before at 10.00am and sold out quickly... resale tickets were available too but now Wimbledon run their own ticketing portal not sure this is still available. The only other place you can buy resale tickets is Debentures (at vastly inflated prices).
There is a company which offers hotel packages including a ticket to Court 1; I'll try and remember the name.
Queueing for a ground tickets an affordable option. Depends on weather though - the grounds are beautiful and it's such a fabulous experience.

ThePoshUns · 22/11/2023 21:49

I'm also ' not yet successful'

Hapagirl48 · 22/11/2023 22:16

@SmithfamilyRobinson Thanks for the info! It’s really helpful to know all this. Ground tickets sounds fun and my DD is keen!

There are tickets on Ticketmaster, I got centres two years ago! Cost an arm and a leg but was great as we'd done the queue before

mrschocolatte · 23/11/2023 04:57

I think for 2021 and 2022 there may have been no public ballot so all tickets went on general sale to the public. I was able to get one for Centre Court on the first Friday for the 2022 tournament. The ballot came back for the 2023 tournament and I was lucky enough to get Centre Court on the first Friday again. I didn’t hear though that I was successful until January of this year so they may do allocations in stages? So fingers crossed for those yet to hear! I remain unsuccessful as yet this year but I’m not too fussed as I know I have been very lucky the last couple of years.

SummerLightning · 23/11/2023 07:54

Does anyone know about the LTA advantage ballot? I have signed up for that as I am an LTA member but it's my first year so I don't know what my chances are. I also entered the public ballot - not successful yet!

Fizzywinegum · 23/11/2023 21:34

I’m also showing as not successful yet - I’m hoping that means that I might still get offered tickets if people don’t accept their allocation/return their tickets?

I was lucky to get tickets to the women’s semis in the ballot this year (for 2023 Wimbledon) We were on row Z but still quite a good view. They were expensive but worth it for the experience

The grounds and everything are amazing - if I could choose I would go in the first week/early 2nd week when there’s a bigger variety of matches
