Anyone Heard Back From 2024 Wimbledon Ballot Yet?

Hello All

I am wondering whether I am going to be successful in Wimbledon Ballot for July 2024. My account says "You have not been successful yet" which is so far so good, obviously.

It would be good to hear if anyone has been allocated tickets yet or if there's a while to wait. I am pretty sure it was around this time last year I got my allocation email.

Thanks

popandchoc · 13/03/2024 13:40

No emails here either, checked my My Wimbledon account and it’s still saying not yet successful in the ballot.

Hapagirl48 · 13/03/2024 13:47

I haven't had an email either!! 2 weeks until DD's birthday so hoping for something.

GimmeGin · 13/03/2024 14:20

Nothing here either. My DS got his through ballot rather than resale last month.

fingers crossed 🤞🏻

ThePoshUns · 13/03/2024 17:13

Still nothing here

Strawberryshortcake90 · 19/03/2024 17:28

I have had an email saying I’ve been successful in the LTA Advantage ballot and can purchase my tickets on Thursday

xSideshowAuntSallyx · 19/03/2024 17:45

No email either, another unsuccessfully year by the looks of it.

I have purchased two tickets for the quarter finals court 1. I only wanted a single ticket but had to buy two or nothing.
2nd row from the back.
Anyone feel free to PM if you would like to buy the ticket next to me.

Also if anyone has better tickets and has no one else to go with. I'm happy to go again.

I’m so discouraged by seeing all of these messages with people not getting the initial ballot but getting emails to buy tickets now. My wife and I wanted to hit all four grand slams this year for a 60th birthdays. We went to the Australian open and we have tickets for the French Open and for the U.S. Open but so far Wimbledon seems to be a bust. We’re going to travel to London anyway and maybe queue hopefully get to see the grounds at least but it would be so sad if we didn’t get to see a match. Open to any suggestions or encouragement and maybe if anyone has any single tickets that they want to sell perhaps we’d be happy to split up and get to see a match that way. Would be a real shame to get to see matches for the three other grand slams and not Wimbledon in the same year. Puts a downer on the whole project we had. Any charitable or clever souls out there with suggestions?

minipie · 21/03/2024 00:07

I believe grounds tickets include the ability to see play on courts 3 to 18 (but standing only). Or once you have agrounds ticket, there are booths inside the grounds reselling any spare higher court tickets.

Terracotta77 · 21/03/2024 07:32

Yes, I agree @znino. I was astonished to read on here that some posters are being encouraged to buy tickets on a closed website and yet a few days later others get told that oh, the ballot is still running and they’ve been successful. It’s a really disappointing way of doing things.

LIZS · 21/03/2024 07:50

You might be able to buy grounds tickets or returns online for next day to avoid queuing early. That tends to be for people who want to find the limited standing areas on show courts. General admission allows you access to a range of outside courts and the hill,

I have not found any place to buy grounds or returns online. Do you know where or how that happens exactly?

Strawberryshortcake90 · 21/03/2024 13:14

AFAIK, Returns aren’t sold online, they’re tickets that are resold by people who leave early on the day. You queue up at Wimbledon.

Got tickets today for court 1 in the first week. This was through the Advantage ballot, I play for an LTA affiliated tennis club.

SummerLightning · 21/03/2024 13:37

@Strawberryshortcake90 what did the email look like? I have lta advantage ballot entry too but nothing here yet 😭

LIZS · 21/03/2024 13:58

@znino the ticket site is available to general public during the tournament. By returns I mean advance tickets people can no longer use, not those which are used and given back during the day which you buy onsite (think proceeds go to charity iirc)

The email came from the LTA last week and just said:

Great news Strawberry - you've been successful in the LTA Advantage Wimbledon Ballot and your online ticket sale opens next week!

The online ticket sale opens at 10:00 on Thursday 21 March and you have until 23:59 that evening to purchase your pair of tickets

ChessieFL · 21/03/2024 14:24

I’ve also got the LTA advantage ballot as well as the normal Wimbledon ballot and heard nothing from either!

LIZS · 23/03/2024 12:43

Ds finally got an email but nothing currently available to purchase.
