Anyone Heard Back From 2024 Wimbledon Ballot Yet?

Hello All

I am wondering whether I am going to be successful in Wimbledon Ballot for July 2024. My account says "You have not been successful yet" which is so far so good, obviously.

It would be good to hear if anyone has been allocated tickets yet or if there's a while to wait. I am pretty sure it was around this time last year I got my allocation email.

Thanks

If you win in the ballot, the named buyer has to be in attendance with photo ID. If you get 2 tickets, the second person can be a guest- needs photo ID but can be anyone you choose.

That's the terms of the ballot. They give you your money back when you return them.

I sent back Men's Finals Day Court 1 tickets quite late last year as we couldn't go so they must reballot throughout the run up to the event or perhaps sell on the day to.those in the queue.

We.live in Cornwall so it's expensive for us to go simply to queue and hope we get something. If I lived nearer, I'd queue each year on a dry day and take my chances. The play on the outside courts is a real.experience. we saw a set of Alfie s wheelchair final in 2022 on an outside court and I was sorry to have to leave it for the mens final. I'd have loved to fully see both.

Hi, people are talking about resale opportunities on Wimbledon website.Where is the resale section on the website please? Tia

SmithfamilyRobinson · 28/01/2024 16:50

You have to sign up for 'My Wimbledon'. Resale isn't open yet.

Hello, have you still have the tickets?

socialdilemmawhattodo · 28/01/2024 18:42

I was in the ballot for the first time this year and was offered in Jan Day 9 CC quarter-final tickets and a guarantee of 1 mens and 1 womens. £165 each. Row Z, gangway 505. Looks a long way away! My tennis-keen friend declined very quickly and I would prefer to spend that money on the opera, so will decline this offer of tickets (midnight tonight). I think the cost is why so many are coming up in January. We used to go after work for a few quid and then be offered the Centre court tickets as people left for the evening.

Is the ticket resale I’m Wimbledon itself or on line

Clarkey54 · 29/01/2024 06:05

Is the ticket resale on line

Clerky · 29/01/2024 16:45

Thanks for this...so,resale tickets would be on the Wimbledon app,on My Wimbledon?
I have the app,so will keeping checking that. Thanks so much,Claire

People should be aware that if you reject the tickets that you are offered in the ballot, then you will not be able to access any resales. Resale tickets are only for unsuccessful ballot applicants
Frankly, I take anything I'm offered - there are no bad seats, and Court One in the second week often has lots of fun stuff for a low price (plus whatever else is on the outside courts).

Ohmylovejune · 29/01/2024 19:50

Yes I bought the Court One Men's Finals Day for only £40 each. I did return them because we couldn't make it (I was the ballot winner and was the one unable to go). It was quite close to the tournament starting and someone will have been delighted to be allocated them, I'm sure.

popandchoc · 30/01/2024 06:33

Last year for the resale I got an email with a link and then logged on and you could look at different options for tickets . Not sure it was on the app but you need your my Wimbledon log in .

You can get an idea using the seat view checker

Offered nearly the same, 2 rows from back.
You can't get re sale again nearer the time, so thought might just get them.
Sometimes you can move a couple of rows down if they are empty...
I feel like you get better seats with the re sale a few weeks before rather than the initial ballot ?

Clarkey54 · 30/01/2024 14:51

do you have to register for the resale

Strawberryshortcake90 · 30/01/2024 15:55

My understanding is resale is offered to people who were unsuccessful in the original ballot, did you enter that?

ThePoshUns · 30/01/2024 15:57

Will they contact you if you're eligible for a resale ? 🙏🏻

Strawberryshortcake90 · 30/01/2024 17:19

You get an email with a code if you’re successful on the resale.

Clarkey54 · 30/01/2024 17:54

No didn’t enter resale. The resale I believe is in the grounds of Wimbledon I am in Ireland

But men's finals would be on centre court, so would it be wheelchair men's finals on court one? That why they are cheaper. Men's finals on centre are in the hundreds....

Ohmylovejune · 30/01/2024 18:29

Oh yes, that's why they were £40pp. There's usually a few games, Inc the vets, on Court 1 plus it's gets you into the ground on MF Day which is a lovely day to enjoy wheelchair finals on the outdoor courts too, so I'm sure the tickets would have been enjoyed.

The year before, 2022, I had Men's Finals Centre Court and they were, I think, £480 for the pair. I'd won them in 2020 but they were pushed forward to 2022 because of COVID.

Ah makes sense. Would love to see the vets, would pay way more than £40 for that 😁

Still nothing here so not looking good but I know there are still chances so you never know!
