Anyone Heard Back From 2024 Wimbledon Ballot Yet?

Hello All

I am wondering whether I am going to be successful in Wimbledon Ballot for July 2024. My account says "You have not been successful yet" which is so far so good, obviously.

It would be good to hear if anyone has been allocated tickets yet or if there's a while to wait. I am pretty sure it was around this time last year I got my allocation email.

Thanks

I’ve just been offered ballot tickets for day 13 on court one but I when I look at the schedule there are no matches on court one that day 🤦‍♀️. They are only £40 so guessing that’s why?!

Won't they be juniors or mixed doubles?

There will be matches, but they’ll be juniors or possibly seniors. A lot of those tickets get rejected & then re-allocated because it’s not a great day/court to get.

They can be good matches though, and you can always sit on the hill and watch the final. I had those tickets once and saw Laura Robson win the Juniors, plus a very funny seniors match. Excellent entertainment for the price

hellyhelly · 27/11/2023 20:36

That’s worth knowing, thank you . Perhaps I’ll go just for the experience then

Chouxpastryishard · 27/11/2023 20:47

This is the first year I’ve done it. Do they email you? I had no idea you had to check your account.

Does anyone know about the LTA advantage ballot? I have signed up for that as I am an LTA member but it's my first year so I don't know what my chances are. I also entered the public ballot - not successful yet!

I've had slightly more success in the LTA ballot that the main public ballot (though haven't had huge success in either over the 25 or so years I've been applying). I was successful in the 2023 LTA ballot and they had changed the way it worked. Instead of just being told which day and court you had tickets for, the email told me I was successful, was guaranteed a pair of tickets, and that I would have access to purchase them from 10am on a day a couple of weeks away. I was thus able to have some choice of day and court. It did add to the stress having to buy then like concert tickets, but I did at least know that I was guaranteed tickets. I suspect If I had chosen a very popular day/court I might not have found any unless really quick, so I did have some second and third choices in case I didn't get my first choice. I did like being able to choose a day I knew I was able to attend/get time off work for.

I’ve read on a number of places that if you’re unsuccessful in the initial ballot draw from November, they offer to people who were unsuccessful tickets that were not claimed, but they only do this in April. Given that it seems you have two weeks to pay and decide if you take the tickets that you win in the ballot, I really don’t understand why they would need to wait all the way until April before offering tickets again. It just makes it more difficult to plan if you’re coming from far away and want to book airline tickets ahead of time. Does anyone know if there’s a reason or if this April 2nd round for unclaimed ticket is actually true?

Also, does anyone know what the process is for obtaining access to just the grounds during the tournament. do you have to lineup for grounds access that day? Or is there anyway to get this grounds access ahead of time?

Thank you.

SmithfamilyRobinson · 27/11/2023 21:46

@znino yes you queue up. Go early. The grounds open about 11.00am. There are opportunities to buy seated tickets in the grounds, once the corporate types have returned them, the money made goes to charity (no guarantees).
I think there is another round of ticket allocations before April. I am not sure as I've been lucky in the last two public ballots for the cancelled Wimbledon in 2020 which I used in 2022, then this year. 2021 tickets were via Ticketmaster.

RenegadeKeeblerElf · 28/11/2023 06:31

As well as any further rounds of allocation, anyone who has entered the ballot gets the opportunity to buy returns online closer to the tournament. I think they email when the system first opens up, but after that any further returns just get added as and when they come up. If you keep checking the website at random times you can get lucky. Last year I got tickets for court 1 in the first week that way.

It's not just grounds passes you can queue for, they also have 500 seats each for Centre, 1&2 for sale on the day for the first 10 days (and they tend to be better seats than are available through the ballot). The queue usually starts the day before but if you aren't willing to queue overnight then joining the queue early in the morning will often still get you tickets for court 1 or 2, or you can choose grounds passes if you'd prefer.

Last year I just bought tickets on the MyWimbkedon site. Great tix for court one.

Ohmylovejune · 05/12/2023 17:12

I've not heard yet.

But I had CC Men's finals in 2020 (actually went in 2022) and CO Men's finals day in 2023 (cheaper tickets but I returned them).

Over the years I've had Men's QF too, so it's only fair I've not got any this year.

Baillie21 · 18/12/2023 13:00

Hi, I also still haven't heard about allocation of tickets. Thought I wasn't successful but I'm glad that someone else hasn't heard too. It means I'm still hopeful ☺️

Debs756 · 23/12/2023 23:07

I have had tickets in the past for both men’s and ladies finals, watched Andy win and our seats were next to back row, you can see fine. I don’t think it is worth the money for any final especially ladies as it might be a two setter with only 12 games, after you might see a mixed double. First week tickets best

Bloomingroses0406 · 06/01/2024 20:30

Me too. Never understood how I never got any :( always did everything I was asked

Misslbee · 16/01/2024 16:14

I got emailed today with a ticket offer for No 1 court day 2. They are back row but only £65 each. As it's my first time in the ballot I thought I should take my chance to go at that price in case it never happens again!

Fizzywinegum · 16/01/2024 17:08

That’s encouraging that they’re still contacting people - court 1 on day 2 should be pretty good

I still haven’t heard anything back yet Sad

ZuluQ · 16/01/2024 17:08

Me too! Email today to say d2 no 1 court but seats not together which might be an issue (£80 each).

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 16/01/2024 17:10

DH got an email today. 2 tickets @ £125 each for the middle Sunday number 1 court. We are very pleased!

Hapagirl48 · 16/01/2024 18:35

Lucky you guys! No email for us 😔

LIZS · 16/01/2024 18:56

Nor here

Radiatorvalves · 16/01/2024 18:58

Just heard today. 2x tickets centre court middle Saturday. Delighted!

Pandaandpurple · 16/01/2024 18:59

Well done all! I’ve heard a few people got emails today. Nothing doing here unfortunately. ☹️

Pandaandpurple · 16/01/2024 19:01

I just rechecked my email and was delighted to see a new email from the AELTC…it was gift shop marketing only! No I don’t want to buy a towel online! 🤦‍♀️
