""How can we help her and thereby help ourselves and our country?" Helping themselves coming before the country as per usual.

It would also explain the desperation from the Conservative right on this emergency legislation and timings.

Under FPTP, losing votes to Reform is good.

V tough benefits crackdown promised by Hunt:

Not only will jobless refusing work lose benefits entirely, but they will also lose entitlements linked to receipt of Universal Credit

So no free NHS prescriptions, dental care, warm homes discounts, etc

Looks like workfare is back as an option too.

And increasing access to talking therapies isn’t exactly the same thing as providing proper mental health care.

They really are disgusting aren't they? Picking on the most poor and vulnerable. Hopefully none of it will happen because they will be booted out. They are deluded though, employers don't exactly queue up to employ people who are disabled.

I expect a few threads will pop up on this.

Apparently these changes will not apply to those with children or have disabilities. Probably because they would be judicially reviewed into the floor.

They've spent a decade redefining disability into a very narrow scope, a lot of disabled people don't count as disabled for work purposes.

Especially those with hidden disabilities or mental health issues.

IME the ‘supportive’ elements aren’t exactly supportive either.

Wonder which Tories have Talking Therapy companies in their business portfolios? Or relatives who have.

I'm sure there will be further changes on what disabled for work is. And cutting out GPs for a fit note tells you it will be tough overall,
