'Stop the Boats' wasn't in the 2019 manifesto either, it's a Sunak/Braverman dream

Looks like she’s going to say more after the Supreme Court ruling. She’s going to be the gift that keeps on giving.

Thanks @DuncinToffee I couldn’t be arsed to go find it but was sure Boris wouldn’t have put anything like that in there.
We’re going to need an entire bucket of pop corn.

Be prepared for the various anti immigrants threads Angry

They are all a bit busy on the ‘what was life like under a labour government’ thread at the moment.

She mentions a "document with clear terms to which you agreed”, does that mean she has proof Shock

If such a document exists then Sunak is more politicially nieve than the least politically nieve than I realised.

dontcallmelen · 14/11/2023 19:10

She is bloody delusional & in need of an intervention Christ who would write this shite & actually believe it she is the very worst incarnation of what the Tory party have become that’s without the side order of sheer corruption & criminality that also pervades.

bombastix · 14/11/2023 19:15

I assume this was all priced in before she was sacked but really it's treacherous if you are a Conservative to do this. She doesn't have a prayer of being elected so confused as to motivation unless it is pure spite.

Cornettoninja · 14/11/2023 19:17

Lol, her protests that ‘he needed her’ to swing his leadership (and she’s not wrong) highlight that she was also moulding at the bottom of a very empty barrel. As her departure has also confirmed.

This lot are very confident of themselves despite clearly being the dregs. No one has anything to boast about because they managed to cling on long enough to reach cabinet by default. Not one of them is there due to any sort of ‘talent’ fgs.

DuncinToffee · 14/11/2023 19:21

She wants to exclude the operation of the ECHR and the Human Rights Act and other international law

Looking forward to see how people will defend that.

Nadine Dorries: "This group of men having installed Rishi Sunak, who decided 7 years ago he would be Prime Minister, & they just used Boris to get the majority to get Rishi in..."

Good luck. She has never had less ability to influence that than now

RafaistheKingofClay · 14/11/2023 19:40

I’m not sure that’s the winning argument she thinks it is given how and why Boris isn’t currently PM.

Boris is popular but incapable and corrupt we can use that…

Nadine Dorries: "This group of men having installed Rishi Sunak, who decided 7 years ago he would be Prime Minister, & they just used Boris to get the majority to get Rishi in..."

oh I see. This isn’t some monumental fuck up, this is how it’s meant to be. Cheers for that Mad Natter, now I definitely know this conspiracy has completely infiltrated the Tory party and they definitely shouldn’t be anywhere near no 10 let alone parliament.

And deny them any access to lawyers which would tie them up in months of wrangling when the government broke the law.

That’s not a surprise but nice of her to put it in black and white.

newnamethanks · 14/11/2023 19:44

I have nothing new or of use to add but, dear god, they are all barking. How can they expect - demand - to be taken seriously?

MrTiddlesTheCat · 14/11/2023 20:05

Having just read Article 58 of the ECHR I'm pretty certain that leaving it won't help the Rwanda plan. It seems to say that anything you've done before leaving is still covered by the Convention. You can't leave to get away from decisions you don't agree with. So if the Rwanda plan is illegal now it will still be illegal after leaving. Oops!

cakeorwine · 14/11/2023 20:29

I wonder if she will make a leaving speech in the House of Commons.

That's interesting. Thanks for posting this.

I'm still a little bemused at the fact her whole 3 pages picks holes in how an unelected PM only got the job because she backed him and how he didn't have a mandate. Whilst simultaneously going on about how he wouldn't let her leave the ECHR and abolish human rights as a Home sec elected by an unelected PM and without a mandate to actually go through either that.

Her whole argument seems to be he was wrong for not allowing her to do something the British people didn't vote for because he was unelected at a GE.

She has some brass balls I'll give her that. Shame they aren't shined enough for her to see her reflection in them.

Notonthestairs · 14/11/2023 20:39

Well she's not finished with Sunak yet. She seems to have told Chris Mason that the terms of agreement letter between them will be published at a later date.

"Tonight, I have asked to see that document and was told it was "not for today.

That suggests she intends to drip feed her pungent critique - in an attempt to maximise the damage it might cause the government. "

Whilst I applaud her efforts to stay on the front pages over the last couple of weeks I have no idea what she expects to happen in the long run. She may well damage Sunak but the polls show that she doesn't have the public support.

Given the varied crises this country is already facing we really don't have time to waste on yet more Tory internecine dramas.

Notonthestairs · 14/11/2023 20:56

"Still no prisons minister

I understand the brief will be given to a current MoJ minister – but no decision yet on which one

The appointee will be the 13th minister for prisons since 2010"

x.com/lara_spirit/status/1724458512716042400?s=46&t=Uw4lJNwxFZFnX0Xs3doHYg

Still, it's not like there is an ongoing crisis in our prisons...

RafaistheKingofClay · 14/11/2023 21:16

Employers can’t afford to take people on? What people? Loads of places have had to increase wages from minimum wage to attract because there are labour shortages.

Unless you are advertising for band 2 in the NHS in which case you can’t. So you just have to hope that the 1 person applying doesn’t come across as a psychopath at the interview.

But she told Mason she wouldn't show it today apparently.

Ah I see that's already been mentioned.
