Didn't Lammy describe women worried about biological males in womens spaces as 'dinosaurs hoarding rights'? As a survivor of domestic abuse I feel very strongly that biological women have the right to spaces free from biological men and I'm absolutely disgusted that a big man thinks it's ok to use his vast platform to denigrate me for wanting to feel safe.

What he actually said has been somewhat distorted I think. Here is the reporting:

I don't think he's particularly keen on women's rights which is disappointing

Lammy on trans rights: “There are some dinosaurs on the right” and “in our own party” – LabourList | Latest UK Labour Party news, analysis and comment

DS comment is that bringing a former villain back is straight out of Eastenders

I believe his talent begins and ends there myself

So you keep saying!

We can agree to disagree

IClaudine · 13/11/2023 12:41

Lammy is a funny one IMHO. He sometimes speaks brilliantly and I think he is very capable. But he also puts his foot in his mouth a lot and sways in the wind. But he is still a better person than any of the current cabinet.

How will Call Me Dave rung rings around Lammy if he never has to face him in debate?

newnamethanks · 13/11/2023 12:42

That'll be the Anne Widdicombe who authorised handcuffing women prisoners who were in the labour ward. She's always been a caring sharing Tory. I bet she loves Cruella.

On the matter of no women in the top four offices of state. First time since 2010 that an all male cast at very top.

Another govt watcher texts: not just all men but all men fro private schools

It is important that Rishi demonstrates as many times as possible how out of touch he is.

Have I missed something about Therese Coffey... her of the turnips and sewage in water?

She went into No.10 hours ago, still in there!

Twitter is saying she has been sacked/resigned?? Nothing on main stream media about it yet though....

RafaistheKingofClay · 13/11/2023 12:57

Therese Coffey is out.

Well that's some good news.

Barclay on his way in to No 10.

At this stage I just want competency.

Coffee’s resignation letter. This is going to keep fact checkers busy.

She thinks there have only been 5 Conservative Prime Ministers?

Cornettoninja · 13/11/2023 13:23

I’m surprised any Tory would willingly draw attention to the absurd circumstance of having five PM’s since 2014.

RafaistheKingofClay · 13/11/2023 13:24

Missed that. That is what she’s said. I was going to have that as the last sentence before she departed into fiction but she’s not even got that far. 😂

bombastix · 13/11/2023 13:27

Apparently the ERG are incensed at Suella being defenestrated and are busy seeking a leadership bid with the 1922 committee.

They are nuts. They are going to destroy their party before the election and for what? Nothing. The hard right of the Conservative Party will never win an election, and especially not the next one.

RafaistheKingofClay · 13/11/2023 13:29

Fair play to Rishi for managing to piss off the moderates and the right.

I’ll say something for the Tories they do somehow still manage to surprise even given all the shit that’s gone on.

AFieldGuideToTrees · 13/11/2023 13:32

What always surprises me about the Tories is that it's them who've given us three female PMs and one non white PM.

Never interrupt your opponent when they are stabbing themselves in their front.

Starmer must be delighted.
