She’s a fucking bitch. 😡I am beyond angry

Nothingbuttheglory · 04/11/2023 19:35

First response nailed it.

NoNeedToHurry · 04/11/2023 19:36

Before I opened this I absolutely knew it would be about Cruella and her abhorrentness (is that a word?) I actually cannot stomach it. She is a cunt.

MissAmbrosia · 04/11/2023 19:43

It's truly abhorrent. Why is she not coming with ways to help solve the problem. The words "lifestyle choice " were used on the news which made me furious.

Bemyclementine · 04/11/2023 19:44

I work in homelessness. There are many homeless people who reject offers of help. Plenty who have housing, whether it's a social housing tenancy, or supported housing, but don't use it, preferring to sleep rough instead. I work with complex needs cases, often the homeless community is their only family and support and they find it very difficult to leave behind. We see it time abd time again, we can provide housing whether it be through the usual homelessness/housing register channels, or by other means, but almost always, the homelessness is only 1 of many issues. Providing housing does not solve all other problems.

Banning the use of tents is not going to help. Access to more support will.

TulipOH · 04/11/2023 19:48

She's an absolute piece of shit.

AlwaysUnreasonablyFabulous · 04/11/2023 19:50

Just when you think that woman couldn't get any worse. Evil to the core.

Echobelly · 04/11/2023 19:51

I know, it makes you want to scream. I have never in my 46 years seen homelessness this bad.... I remember a few years ago walking past about 4 street homeless people begging in the short walk between the tube station and home and this was way out in the suburbs. Central London had literally run out of space for the street sleepers. It hasn't got that bad again here since COVID when they proved actually they could house more people for extensive periods - but where I work in the West End it gets worse and worse. Lots more people with no coats, no shoes, more homeless people I've seen doing what I feel are rather demeaning 'performances' to try to draw attention to themselves get money because there are so many people to 'compete' with. It's awful. And it's totally the Tories fault for running this country to the ground.

'Toughness' doesn't help anything - what's needed is more fairness.

BIWI · 04/11/2023 19:52

I'm waiting with interest to see the Tory-supporting Mumsnetters defend this.

It's barbaric cruelty. And, I think, entirely deliberate.

Atethehalloweenchocs · 04/11/2023 19:54

At this stage she is more like a caricature than a real person. Hard to believe someone can be so awful - and yet she keeps it coming.....

BigMandsTattooPortfolio · 04/11/2023 19:55

De Vile is lower than a serpent’s belly.

AlwaysUnreasonablyFabulous · 04/11/2023 19:57

I'm interested to know what these "penalties" will look like

TwigTheWonderKid · 04/11/2023 19:57

We have a man who lives under our railway arch. He was given a place in a hostel miles away but he was literally in fear for his life there as other residents were so aggressive.

She really has absolutely no compassion and shows no willingness to understand anything beyond her own limited experience.

Spinnymop · 04/11/2023 19:59

She's a Poundland Priti Patel and needs to fuck off.

TeenLifeMum · 04/11/2023 20:01

In our town there’s no reason to be homeless - all homeless people have accommodation but some choose not to go there (it’s complex and I appreciate there are reasons behind that). Instead they put up tents wherever they like without concern of the impact they may have on others. It’s a very difficult problem to solve and I’d be interested to read more about where the decision came from and the ethical decision-making process.

What impact does a tent have on other people?

Kendodd · 04/11/2023 20:04

Yeah, they should just live in the abundant council housing the Tories have built for them.

endofagain · 04/11/2023 20:07

There are empty buildings everywhere that could be repurposed, but as pp said, hostels can be scary places when there are aggressive, intoxicated people around, nowhere to secure your belongings. They need to be safe places, not more dangerous than the street.

Missedmytoe · 04/11/2023 20:08

First reply is absolutely spot on. Why they cant make any policies to actually help is beyond me. All this will do is make homeless people's lives even more difficult.

TeenLifeMum · 04/11/2023 20:08

@NoNeedToHurry There’s rarely a single tent - people are scared, get shouted at walking by, there’s drug paraphernalia, litter etc (your comment is rather naive I’m afraid).

Fizzadora · 04/11/2023 20:08

Well you are all frothing at the mouth but you have a post above from an expert who works in homelessness who has clarified that actually in many, many cases, it is a lifestyle choice.
Now what?

willmypuppystoppooing · 04/11/2023 20:08

Just when you think this vile woman can't get any worse. She's abhorrent.

laladoodoo · 04/11/2023 20:09

My first thought was when I heard what she said was "oh come on now, she's actually trolling us at this stage". She's the Katie Hopkins of the Tories. Anything for a reaction.
Incidentally Katie Hopkins is much more tolerable now MSM has rejected her

Alright Suella

pointythings · 04/11/2023 20:19

@TeenLifeMum if you're expecting ethical decision making from Suella Braverman you haven't been paying attention.

There are reasons why people refuse accommodation. Braverman isn't interested in addressing those reasons, only in scoring another cheap headline for the faithful.
