Best teabags?

I bought Tetley and they are awful, I don't know why but they just don't taste like tea!

Can anyone answer the ultimate question of what is the best tea? I don't want to spend a fortune buying lots of different disappointing teas 😁

Absolutely anything made by these guys. Thompsons. Shiny packets, sold in Tescos, Ocado do them, even Amazon, probably elsewhere. They are the only tea I like now really after trying everything. Better than Twinings AND not as expensive!

Definitely my favourite too.

FictionalCharacter · 22/10/2023 10:21

Clipper. I like my tea strong too!

MyCircumference · 22/10/2023 10:31

i used to drink Clipper or Twinings but due to cut backs have tried waitrose/asda/sainsbury gold
all good
yorkshire my preference though

I believe Ringtons used to make tea for Marks & Spencer, not sure if they still do.
For decades (maybe 40 years) my parents used to buy boxes of Marks & Spencer's Extra Strong one cup tea bags. When these were discontinued they switched to M&S Gold. I switched to Sainsburys Red label and now drink Yorkshire Tea.

I live in the north east and we get the Rington tea man doing deliveries in their little vans and carrying a wicker basket.

DH and myself loved PG extra strong teabags. So now liptons own PG, they have of course discontinued the extra strong PG. So we're grumpily consuming Tetley extra strong (meh) and considering what to do with our tea addiction. We both like tea to be the colour of david dickenson - ultra builder brew. Any suggestions fellow tea drinkers? We like it strong!

M&S Gold are the best

M&S Gold are the best

They're my least favourite as they have a funny taste. I'd settled on PG tips but not sure why they've stopped being in a pyramid bag (I'm guessing cost).

mentalblank · 10/12/2023 16:10

Would be interested in other thoughts about the new PG Tips which are no longer in a pyramid bag. I reckon they're not as nice but find it hard to put my finger on how!

Yorkshire Gold is our tea of choice, my DS and DIL have always bought Clipper. Whilst visiting over Xmas, Clipper tea tasted awful, the teabags also smell, what's happened!

twilightcafe · 03/01/2024 11:20

I've switched our house brew to Punjana after several recommendations on Mumsnet.
It gives a proper builders' brew: nice and strong with a decent colour.
I buy in bulk from Morrisons or Amazon.

Toddlerteaplease · 03/01/2024 11:40

Farrah's Lakeland tea.
