Is the heating on yet?

Just that. I have never left it off so long before, but we have had a renovation and it is all heavily insulated. I don't know if it is us or if it is just warm.

Have you put yours on?

No not yet, haven't felt the need at all.

catherinewales · 12/10/2023 22:48

We've had ours on once but we've not had it on since. We've had work done so thinking it's because of this.

Ratfinkstinkypink · 12/10/2023 22:48

Not yet, it's still around 19° indoors but I think the log burner might get lit soon. I am in East Anglia.

feellikeanalien · 12/10/2023 22:49

Had it on for a couple of hours this evening but we did have frost on the car this morning so I think it was justified.

ssd · 12/10/2023 22:49

Yep in Glasgow

2023shady · 12/10/2023 22:49

Mine clicked on earlier. I let it run briefly to test it was ok and check the radiators then it went off again!

SunnySomer · 12/10/2023 22:51

This evening for the first time. Also had first frost this morning

ProjectsGalore · 12/10/2023 22:52

Not yet. Had a heated throw delivered today and plan to use that if I'm cold for as long as possible!

Gingerkittykat · 12/10/2023 22:54

It was 3 degrees last night and is currently 11 degrees so I have had the heating on.

The car looked like it was near to frosting over during the night so time to get the winter supplies in.

Where do you live @unlikelychump and what is the outdoor temperature? You coud be comparing the South of England with the HIghlands.

Lizzt2007 · 12/10/2023 22:55

Mine kicked on for the first time this morning, thermostat is set at 15. As others I had ice on the car this morning so it was definitely on the chilly side overnight.

ThatMrsM · 12/10/2023 23:03

Not yet, but we are in the South East and it's still been so unbelievably warm this week. 22⁰C in our house at the moment.

spookehtooth · 12/10/2023 23:04

No, but that slightly cool feeling getting undressed around midnight and getting out of bed around means the countdown is starting. It'll be a while, though, because its still warm in the daytime, although I am favouring jumper and long trousers indoors on the cooler days. It's not needed, its just becoming a preference for a bit more comfort

NotFastButFurious · 12/10/2023 23:09

Yes, it was on a lot last weekend as it was 11 degrees and wet all weekend here!
i put it on tonight as it was 15.3 when I checked the hive app on my way home.

Same here (Kingdom of Essex). It was 14⁰c laat night outside, 16⁰c Wed night would you believe, although looking at the forecast could be as low as 1⁰c over the weekend.

We always try to hold out until November before turning the CH on.- not that it makes much diff in an old bungalow - but I do look forward to getting the log burner on.

Which reminds me, I must buy some more logs again and whinge at the cost compared to a couple of years back...

DelphiniumBlue · 12/10/2023 23:17

No, I'm in London and its not cold here, I'm still in flipflops indoors. But I did notice that lots of people have moved from shorts yesterday to long trousers today!

mollyfolk · 12/10/2023 23:20

It clicked itself on for the first time today. I am have system that is set to come on when the room temperature drops below 18 degrees.

travelogue · 12/10/2023 23:21

Haven't even thought about heating yet. Maybe next week if the forecast is to be believed?! South coast & its been very warm recently. If it's sunny it's going to stay off as our place is like a greenhouse at this time of year.

ReginaPerrin · 12/10/2023 23:23

We put it on one night last week for a few hours but not had it on since. I think it’ll be going back on soon though.

Electrictache · 12/10/2023 23:23

No way, it's still 18/19 here during the day.
I wait as long as possible because I don't like central heating but I'll put it on if I'm cold.

PickAChew · 12/10/2023 23:27

It's come on this evening but we don't change the thermostat all year so it's not the first time. DH scraped ice off his car, this morning.

Redshoeblueshoe · 12/10/2023 23:27

I'm in Manchester and it was hot today, everyone wearing t-shirts. Not had the heating on yet

AutumIsOrange · 12/10/2023 23:27

Nope. 18 in my house and if I get nippy, I put the Uggs and a jumper on. I figure we’re all happy when the temperature reaches 18 in the Spring so it’ll stay off for a bit yet (it’s set to kick in at 16).

KEG05 · 12/10/2023 23:29

Yes this morning and this evening. Borderline baltic. We are central belt of Scotland. Think it’s just the drop in temp from being milder though but definitely feeling it.

pizzaHeart · 12/10/2023 23:29

Yes, it was on already quite a few times, less than usual though.
Our car was frosted this morning too.

Familyiness · 12/10/2023 23:32

Not had mine on yet either. Usually doesn't go on till end of Nov. Unless it's freezing. We all put jumpers on before the heating goes on. And it never goes on after 8pm because we get under the covers and I sleep next to a bloomin oven
