Is the heating on yet?

Just that. I have never left it off so long before, but we have had a renovation and it is all heavily insulated. I don't know if it is us or if it is just warm.

Have you put yours on?

It clicked itself on for the first time today. I am have system that is set to come on when the room temperature drops below 18 degrees.

So do I and mine has been coming on in the morning recently but then switches off and does not come on again. I leave it set at 18° but do boost it up to 20° if I’m sat down and feel cold. My nose is my guide, if my nose is cold and I’ve got warm clothes on, then I check the heating.

I’m currently lying in bed with my summer duvet on and my feet are cold! Time to get my winter duvet out!

TooBigForMyBoots · 12/10/2023 23:52

Yep, 11 degrees in the house this evening.🥶

Bluescorpop · 12/10/2023 23:54

Nope 22 in the house right now, with bedroom windows open. (South East England)

Guiltyfeethavegotnorhythm0 · 13/10/2023 00:02

I have had it on a few mornings because I don't live anywhere where it was warm last week .I don't like getting out of the shower being cold .

Libertass · 13/10/2023 00:11

I’m in Leicestershire and our heating hasn’t been on since spring. Looking at the forecast for this weekend, though, it seems like it will be going on.

mondaytosunday · 13/10/2023 00:17

No it was a really warm week (London), but tonight I have put on the gas fire and I love being in here listening to the rain! Heating can wait a bit yet.

BananaPyjamaLlama · 13/10/2023 00:35

No. Im still wearing just a t shirt and trousers tbh. No jumper so definitely no need for heating yet. Its 18.4c in the room Im sitting in.

Lonesomefetter · 13/10/2023 00:40

Nah its been chilly at night for the last two days, but house is still OK, especially upstairs.

MariaLuna · 13/10/2023 00:45

It still feels summery....

Do you live in a badly insulated house OP?

ShippingForecastSnooze · 13/10/2023 06:43

Yep, to dry DSS's washing..all he wears are hoodies and joggers and I can never get them dry without smelling.

PuttingDownRoots · 13/10/2023 07:34

Thermostat still saying 18-19. Have reached for the blanket on the sofa a few times.

Have to remind the children to shut the back door though!

Augustus40 · 13/10/2023 07:37

Put it on last night but just half an hour. Six radiators. I checked out Smart meter and it cost 38 pence lol.

Lottie4 · 13/10/2023 07:39

No, would normally set early Oct at 18c and then let it kick in when cold enough. House feels warm enough and lounge is 19c this morning, so wouldn't come on anyway.

Tlolljs · 13/10/2023 07:39

Still got the windows open here.
Nowhere near cold enough. South East.

SomeCatFromJapan · 13/10/2023 07:41

Yes for the last few weeks, Scotland.

FedUpMumof10YO · 13/10/2023 07:42

No not yet. Will try to get to December.

OddBoots · 13/10/2023 07:49

Not yet, it will switch itself on at 16c during the day inside but it is still 19-21c inside at the moment.

gotomomo · 13/10/2023 07:51

No, it's 19 degrees in my bedroom currently without heating

gotomomo · 13/10/2023 07:52

According to Alexa it's 18 outside currently too

User1786 · 13/10/2023 07:55

Not yet. Thermostat set to come on if it drops below 18 between 0600 and 2200. It is starting to feel colder thought even though it’s still 20 indoors. East Anglia

gertrudemortimer · 13/10/2023 07:55

I had mine on yesterday morning, I had to scrape my car at 8am. West Yorkshire

DeathMetalMum · 13/10/2023 07:56

Not yet but will probably be on here tomorrow afternoon/evening looking at the weather forecast.

It felt particularly chilly out yesterday 6c around 8am. I had a jumper on for the first time, lots of kids in winter coats on the school run. House has stayed warm though and it was v sunny yesterday so I took advantage of that and pulled up all the blinds. Living room was 17 this morning and has already crept to 18. Grey and rainy here today though so possibly might need heating later.
