Is the heating on yet?

Just that. I have never left it off so long before, but we have had a renovation and it is all heavily insulated. I don't know if it is us or if it is just warm.

Have you put yours on?

It is now! It kicked in this morning.

RampantIvy · 15/10/2023 07:29

Currently 2 degrees. The heating came on this morning.

Crunchymum · 15/10/2023 08:11

Heating is on for the first time since March or April (I can't remember exactly but know it was a cold spring)

I've put it in for an hour to take the edge off. 5c here and very nippy.

StopVotingToryYouTwats · 15/10/2023 08:24

Just put it on. It's 4 degrees here! 🥶

NotFastButFurious · 15/10/2023 08:53

Mine has been on for 2 hours and the temperature in the living room still hasn’t reach 18 degrees! It was on until 8pm last night at 20degrees so must have been another cold night 🥶🥶 it’s sunny though so better than warm n wet!

Pascha · 15/10/2023 09:33

Currently 8° and sunny outside, 19.5° indoors without heating in my kitchen. I predict the heating will click on around sunset.

MaryGreenhill · 15/10/2023 16:54

Not yet but counting tbh.

UtterlyButterly2048 · 15/10/2023 16:58

Tried but it’s not working 🤦‍♀️ Plumber coming next week….

DarklySparkly · 15/10/2023 17:37

It’s warm. We live in a big, draughty, Victorian stone house in Wales and only put the heating on this morning for the first time. I think there have been other years when it’s been this late, so I wouldn’t say it’s massively unusual but it’s definitely welcome.

DavidChecker · 15/10/2023 17:41

Ours has been on, we have someone who needs more heat than most of us.
Today I have adjusted the heat of the water in the system.

LoveStHelier · 15/10/2023 17:46

Yes it’s on. It was frosty here overnight and Ice on the car at 7am.

Somewhatchallenging · 15/10/2023 17:48

No, not at all. It’s quite pleasant still.

Oh yeah, where are you?

AvengedQuince · 15/10/2023 18:50

I'm in the SW and it's 16 here so my heating would not kick in if I turned it on.

Desecratedcoconut · 15/10/2023 18:59

16c! Wow. We maxed out the mercury at 9c and that was just for a brief moment, it was 4c for most of it.

vernatheraven · 15/10/2023 19:47

Had it in for an hour at half six to take the chill off it was 15 degrees today inside

cptartapp · 15/10/2023 19:50

No. Got a full line of washing dry today. It was beautiful. Chilly now but home alone so sat under the heated blanket and plenty warm enough.

Inside?

ForfarBridie · 15/10/2023 20:11

Here in Tayside people are really wrapped up for the very cold weather and my brother has had the heating on for about 10 days now. I’m still freezing though and just can’t get warm but this afternoon and extra quilt on the bed as well as more clothing meant I thawed out from the inside out and managed to sleep for 3 hours. I’m heading home in a few days and ill muss my brother and tge rest of the family but I’ve had enough of being cold to the bone.

AvengedQuince · 15/10/2023 20:13

It was max 12 today outside but it's the inside temperature that is relevant to heating.

Desecratedcoconut · 15/10/2023 21:39

AvengedQuince · 15/10/2023 20:03

Inside?

God, no. I'm on the other side of the MN pendulum with my thermostat.

unlikelychump · 15/10/2023 21:53

Still not on here, although that's likely because we were painting the kitchen so active.

Ds bounced on the trampoline for hours so the door was open too.

Stayed a steady 16deg indoors all day.

I meant it's 16 inside here, outside doesn't matter.
