Tories SMASHED in Tamworth and Mid Bedfordshire by-elections.

(And I feel fine)

I have to say the Mid Beds Tory candidate (looking like he is about to burst into tears) leaving the stage after only being there for a few minutes... I found that so bloody rude.
It's just a case of simple manners

Was he the one who'd told poor people to fuck off? Can't remember

Tamworth was the guy with the spreadsheet

I didn't realise both Tory candidates ran away looking for a fridge.

😲😲

Cabinet Office has published data on Rishi Sunak's private and RAF jet hire.

In three months, they spent £650,271.28.

WTF that slimy little gnome is really rinsing us.

No, mid Beds Festus is the one who muttered 'democracy' as he fled.

He is genuinely a better person than the Tamworth guy but not a politician, susceptible to cronyism and thinks firm handshaking is all that is required,

One lesson to be learned is that Sunak's tactic of appeasing the hard right doesn't work. If Braverman thinks this is her route to the leadership, she's very mistaken.

It may well be Braverman's route to the leadership of Ukip the Tory party, but it will also be Starmer's route to a 2nd term.

One of our friends is on that other thread, with a slight name change. Why, I wonder?

LittleBowSheep · 20/10/2023 11:55

Hell will freeze over before any Tory becomes more popular than a Labour leader in Wales. And Davies is a particularly hideous specimen.

I saw the results of that poll and don't believe its accuracy for one minute.

I did enjoy their contribution.

I am disappointed that Clav hasn't been along to whatabout some 19th century by-elections that Labour didn't win.

I think some people are having a little hissy fit about the 20mph speed limit, so if his popularity really has dipped a bit it will soon reverse as people get used to the change. Davies is indeed vile.

Notonthestairs · 20/10/2023 12:00

What's fascinating is how many contributors are desperate to push the Conservative party further to the right.
It won't win them any elections but 🤷🏼‍♀️

SAS doctors in England have spoken and delivered a decisive YES result in the indicative ballot.

The Government has written to us and offered to meet with us next week. We have accepted their offer and will continue to negotiate in good faith.

Critically important section of doctors IMO.
Can only hope the DoH engage positively.

"Show me evidence"

"Not that evidence"

Confused

Talk about them prioritising the wrong thing 🙄

SCOOP: BBC director general Tim Davie will address the next meeting of the 1922 Committee of Tory backbenchers.

To say this is highly unusual would be an understatement.

This seems off.

You can see the reasoning for a BBC director general facing questions from Government ministers.

And of course MPs from across the Commons will question a DG at a select committee.

But to turn up and take questions from one political party in private… hmmm.

Tim Davie was ex deputy chair of Hammersmith and Fulham Conservative Party

Friends of Liz Truss and Boris Johnson wish it to be known that LT and BJ are not responsible for the by-election defeats. The chaos of their premierships is apparently irrelevant. Instead it is Rishi Sunak’s stewardship of the economy for an almost unbroken four years which they say is to blame. I am not sure this reductionist argument helps them or their party. But they’d like you to know.

I am amusing myself making up nicknames to add to Kinnochio and Gordo. Of ocurse we already have Bozo, Bliar and Maybot.

So far I have Camoron.

Bingo card for you all.

Can we now re-name the by-elections as Bye-Bye-elections.

Bye Bye Tories.

DuncinToffee · 20/10/2023 18:02

Like the bingo card and bye bye elections Grin

I think most Conservatives stayed at home but ALL the Labour voters decided to vote no matter what.

That's obviously what happened.......
