Well, maybe he has been watching Nick Eardley on the BBC...who said the same.

It's patent bollocks in both constituecies.

This shows the gains and losses. It's massive.

In a sign of just how bad the government currently is, looking at those charts I'm like, yeah, that's kind of as expected, no big surprise there.

Roussette · 20/10/2023 07:52

The Tamworth tory candidate walked out seconds into Labour Sarah Edwards' speech. How rude.

Helicopter boy extending his mini break with a day in Egypt

Hot and sunny in Cairo

Still trying to steal the limelight with his Mickey Mouse diplomacy

I am 😲😲😲 at Greg Hands interview on BBC breakfast this morning. He is denying reality and saying there hasn't been a turn towards Labour.

He was on Sky saying everybody was happy with the work Rishi was doing. I was half expecting him to finish the sentence by reeling if the 5 pledges or promises or whatever they are now.

DuncinToffee · 20/10/2023 08:44

So what is their excuse, I have seen that low turn out being mentioned but that didn't stop their 'win' in Uxbridge Confused

Bad weather made people vote Labour apparently.

MP texts: Says quote below is what some 2019-ers are saying on MP whatsapps groups, and that they are “deluded”

‘Our voters stayed at home they DIDN'T switch. Come the General the public who sat in their hands will come out to back us.’

That fits with something Sam Freedman tweeted the other week about parts of the party being completely unaware of how much trouble they are in.

IClaudine · 20/10/2023 09:01

On LBC Nick Ferrari is wanging on about Mark Drakeford now being less popular that the Tory leader.

But Wales is the new But Corbyn.

pointythings · 20/10/2023 09:01

I'm encouraged by the Mid Beds result in particular given that the bloody Lib Dems didn't stand aside. I think John Curtice has it spot on when he suggests it looks like 1997 all over again.

@Zonder Leadership challenge incoming? Sunak has been there a year. He became pm in October half term last year. 53 letters needed😊

It seems that Monday is the first date a leadership contest can begin (although letters can be put forward before then, they just won't count before the 23rd).

Do the Tories need to change after two byelection defeats? No, says this minister….

Gooood Morninnnng! 😀😀
I am loving the spin already... protest vote, mid term, low turnout, blah de blah. Greg will be placing his grubby note and tired flip flops as I type.

Passepartoute · 20/10/2023 09:28

IClaudine · 20/10/2023 04:09

Brilliant! Nads will be fuming.😁

Nah, she'll be claiming it's all Rishi's fault.

Passepartoute · 20/10/2023 09:32

One lesson to be learned is that Sunak's tactic of appeasing the hard right doesn't work. If Braverman thinks this is her route to the leadership, she's very mistaken.

IClaudine · 20/10/2023 09:32

Prepare to cringe...

Noble's thread is full of it.

On letters into the 1922, one MP tells me: “I think some will [send them] but the mood is that the game is up and even if letters went in he’d win a vote. The MPs are literally blind and they back him because he’s bought off so many with jobs”

Noble's thread is full of it.

If they are all going to spoil their ballot in the GE, isn't that a good thing for the Labour party?

OP posts:
Piggywaspushed · 20/10/2023 09:50

You'd think. And then the rest of them won't turn out to vote.

DuncinToffee · 20/10/2023 09:55

So, Blackpool South and Wellingborough next then?

When will they be called?

Thought Nick R handled him really well on radio 4 this morning.
