Does anyone else get Enoch Powell vibes? Makes me shiver....

OP posts:
therealcookiemonster · 09/11/2023 11:03

I would rather have nigel farage or priti Patel over cruella any day!

youngones1 · 09/11/2023 11:10

Unbelievable that she called the Free Palestine demonstration a hate march, how dare she.

MissyB1 · 09/11/2023 11:16

She’s not stupid she’s dangerous. Very dangerous. Her behaviour and increasingly aggressive far right language is a very deliberate strategy. Voters beware, the Tories are showing us the direction they are taking their party in, we must get them out!

justmindinmybiz · 09/11/2023 11:32

Extremely dangerous. She needs to go asap.

BigMandsTattooPortfolio · 09/11/2023 11:38

She’s more Tommy Robinson than Enoch Powell and an absolutely shameless demagogue. By pitching herself against the Met, she’s deliberately trying to be sacked so she can launch her leadership bid to take the nasty party further to the hard right.

Well then take a good look at people who say they are voting Conservative. They want this stuff

NashvilleQueen · 09/11/2023 11:44

What I get from her is Katie Hopkins vibes. She's prepared to say the most extreme reactionary bullshit to further her own career. She's an absolute disgrace to the legal profession.

Yes that's my impression too. The NI aspect of her comments are literally unbelievable. Completely clueless.

Yes, also frightening.

bombastix · 09/11/2023 12:08

Btw, I hear the Supreme Court's judgment on Rwanda scheme is due next week.

I wonder if that has anything to do with this concerted effort to get sacked this week.

Who can say?

Crikeyalmighty · 09/11/2023 12:22

She's ukip/reform - masquerading as a Tory - as power unlikely with either of those. I find it bizzare that anyone from a non white immigrant background can be so far to the right.

CeciledeVolangesdeNouveau · 09/11/2023 12:25

I was supervised for my LLM by the man who taught her undergrad constitutional law. He gave a conference speech which was turned into a published article. In both he asked himself rhetorically where he’d gone wrong with her teaching. We all know he didn’t teach her the wrong law, she’s just willing to manipulate it to suit her political ends.

IClaudine · 09/11/2023 12:31

She may think she is the next leader of the Tories, but she won't win in a leadership contest that goes to a membership vote, no way.

Why not? You have to think what will be left of them after the election. Not many nice liberal wet Tories left.

That's what I can't understand either.

This is even more frightening when you consider who, exactly, the Conservative membership elected the last time they had the opportunity, when they turned out to be even more incompetent than the runner-up who has since proven his own blithering incompetence and unsuitability for the job.

If they won't elect Braverman, then recent history suggests it'll be someone even more hopeless/nasty/venal.

Crikeyalmighty · 09/11/2023 12:43

@IClaudine oh I disagree- the only ones left in membership are headbangers.

SinnerBoy · 09/11/2023 10:56

At least being horrible in Parliament is keeping her from her preferred occupation of skinning Dalmatian puppies for coats ..

😃

You were right the first time 🤣

Unbelievable that she called the Free Palestine demonstration a hate march, how dare she.

I mentioned that on here a few days ago .

She's a nasty nasty woman who thinks anyone who has a different opinion to her 100% wrong . Bordering on down right fascist

Has Sunak the bollocks to sack her over this as her statement wasn't approved by his office ?

Let's hope so .

TokyoSushi · 09/11/2023 12:46

I think we're closer to her getting sacked as we ever have been, not sure who would replace her though? Penny Mordaunt?

This is the membership that voted in the incompetent wassock Johnson is it ?

BigMandsTattooPortfolio · 09/11/2023 12:49

As well as the incompetent wazzockess, Truss.

MrsBennetsPoorNerves · 09/11/2023 12:50

The PM has said this morning that he has full confidence in her, so I expect that she'll be gone by the end of the week.

MrsBennetsPoorNerves · 09/11/2023 12:54

She does seem on a mission to get sacked, as a Tory MP apparently suggested. Rishi is therefore caught between a rock and a hard place. Sack her and risk the wrath of the Tory right, or keep her and accept the wrath of the country. We'll see which side he comes down on...it doesn't really matter either way, as he will be out of a job after the next election no matter what he does!!
