I went down a deep, deep rabbit hole with WEF, Maui, Gates' vaccines, five minute cities....clinging on to what people like @HongKongGarden say here because, if even half these 'theories' are true, we are all done for.

To repeat the point I made above, if top financiers, politicians etc were plotting we’d need to be on the inside given our jobs.

It’s like antivaxers telling a research scientist for Pfizer that vaccines are a con.

If that’s a serious question then you rent from your savings or pension, the same way that you currently pay for food, holidays, car maintenance, clothes, cinema trips etc.

There's no need to be condescending. Not everyone has savings and pensions.

I will just keep keeping on my Range Rover, climate change is a con, unless someone had a word with the big yellow thingy in the sky....

Then they will rely on benefits. The point remains, we already have ongoing costs for all sorts of perishable and transient things now; this implication that we don’t already need an income or savings in later life is just not true.

The anti-science posts on here are quite depressing, and it’s close to certain that nearly all of them are by people without any actual background in science.

I don't want to share my bras. I want my bras to be where I left them so I can find them when I need them.

Ditto an awful lot of my other stuff.

No-one is going to make you share your bras, or your shoes, cutlery, or pretty much anything else.

Moon "Thanks for taking the time to talk this out with me btw. I’ve tried to participate and learn before and get shouted down and met with hostility from both sides of the equation which just confuses me more so I tend to stay out of things now."

no worries, these conversations can get weird and I ignore some posters.

General question on music - is it no longer the case that you can download CDs to your laptop? I have tried this with this two newest CDs I bought, it didn't work but I didn't know if that was my ancient laptop or if things have now been set up so it can't be done with CDs.

What's depressing is child slave labour exploited and dying for cobalt for luvvies car batteries that cost more than the electric heap they are in to replace.

You appear to think you are some sort of oracle, patronising us less in the know plebs, believe me you ain't even scratching the surface with me..

No, I don’t believe you. I’m pretty sure you’re getting your information from places like YouTube and don’t have so much as a first science degree to your name.

You seem utterly ignorant of actual science and completely willing to parrot what people like Russel Brand, Alex Jones and David Icke say.

Are you against the Covid vaccines too?

Edited

You can still put CDs onto your laptop and phone, and still download things such as Spotify for use when you have no signal.

There are all sorts of issues with providers being able to amend, delete and lock content, including the way that (for example) there’s going to be no decent archive of early computer games soon as the companies stop supporting the activation servers, but you can still do what you want with your CDs.

DH bought me a beautiful Technics turntable for Christmas, and I’m very happy to be able to get all my old favorite albums on vinyl again.

HongKongGarden to be fair, there's a lot of emissions involved in EV manufacture and we were told diesel was a good option when that came in.

the real thing with EVs is they want fewer cars on the road and that will reduce emissions. Again, you're on the side that won't have to do without and aren't worried.

I did wonder if some companies are locking content so you buy the CD and the MP3.

There are, and there are massive problems with the child labour used in the supply chain, but that doesn’t back up the claims about their effect on the environment.

Can I not play music from YouTube (Free)
Copy it to my computer and save it in a file there forever?
The next step is to copy that file to my phone or my old iPod. [if I can find it and the lead to charge it]
I used to do this is it impossible now?

YouTube charge for streaming services so you can download. You can do it illegally though.

The sad thing here is that you probably actually do believe that this justifies your ludicrous views on climate change.

but you don't believe it, you're a bona fide supporter of child slave labour, which of course you deny exists, give your head a wobble!

But then who are “they”?

If it’s not those of us running banks and the like then who’s actually on the inside?

And who’s the army of ciders designing the AI take-over but never ever letting slip what’s coming?

Imagine that, wanting people to contribute in some way in exchange for food, heat and shelter.

Not owning things. Perpetual renting. I'm not saying that people shouldn't contribute 🙄

No it hasn't - you can by MP3s (or FLACs or AACs) to store inviolably on your hard drive from iTunes Store, Amazon Music, Bandcamp, 7digital - and direct from many record label websites.

I don't have a hard drive and I don't understand the rest of your post because tech and I'm getting on and I'm not particularly techy. I could manage to download tracks from Google play thingy and now I can't and everything is streamed.

'They' are people in the Gates Foundation, WEF, UN, WHO, The Clinton Foundation.

It's really beyond me why people argue against this shit when Noah Harari is on video talking about 'useless eaters'. Gates talking about reducing the population by 1 billion is on tape ffs.

The level of denial is just bizarre....but I still wish they were right. They're not.
