I had a massive salad in a pub last week too! Genuinely was the size I would serve family-style for multiple people to help themselves. I don’t believe anyone could have finished it. It wasn’t particularly calorific, it was just really big.

The sides were massive too, DS ordered a side of broccoli and got a dinner plate piled high. Again, about 4x the size we were expecting. I assume new chef with no sense of portion control.

Edited to add: we eat in that pub a lot, and the serving sizes are usually completely unremarkable - that’s what made it so odd.
