.....this year? It's one of my favourite shows but I'm not sure if I'm going to watch it.

I cannot stand the new presenter Alison, she's too loud, shouty, "look at me, look at me"
So that's what us most likely to have me turning off bake off

Oh and the fact that some of the challenges are plain daft & OTT

No need to lie, they're clearly minimising rape, with Ross saying Lily will lose her dress if allowed near RB/Noel and then RB's language 'have you done a rape?' minimising rape. No one says in it they would rather be called a serial killer!

Most C4 output is absolute shit, and always has been. Bakeoff turned to shit when it moved to this channel. I avoid the channel like the plague - it's a mixture between the most debased TV you can possibly think of and most self righteous.

And whilst not illegal, it seems to have been a thing amongst thirty something male stars out of the C4 comedy stable of the 1990s to get together with teenagers. Brand dated his current wife previously, when she was 18 and he 32. Chris Evans with Billie Piper when she was 18 and he was 34. Jonathan Ross married Jane Goldman when she was 18 and he was 28 (still a 10 year age gap). The aforementioned Noel Fielding. Your average Joe sniffing around the 6th form college would get short thrift on this site usually, but when it comes to cheeky chippies off the telly, well, it's legal!!.

This is ridiculous. Are you going to stop talking to yourself as you said you knew years ago. And the rape jokes etc were made years ago so you continued to watch the show until now, knowing what you did, and you are falling out with Noel Fielding who knew as much as you did?

I find Noel Fielding painfully unfunny and cringey, but he is nothing on that other gobshite Matt Lucas, thank god he is gone. So slimey and creepy, and about as amusing as a heart attack.

Russell appearing on Celeb Bake Off was April 2019, it may well have been for his acquaintance with Noel that he got him to do it, nonetheless it was for charity.
They appeared a few times together on Big Fat Quiz but not as many as you'd think and the last time was an anniversary episode.
Neither Noel Fielding, Jonathan Ross, Jimmy Carr nor David Baddiel have spoken out either to denounce or to support their friend/colleague. They're stuck between a rock and a hard place. If they defend him, they'll be accused of being rape apologists and have their own lives and work scrutinised. If they attack him, they'll be accused of being disloyal/hypocritical potentially and again, careers and material scrutinised.
Possibly they are still close and have reached out privately. Alternatively they are appalled or the friendship had already died out so ghosting unnecessary (Carr is friends with Katherine Ryan so would have been in the know).
Arguments remain of separating artists from their work and also what constitutes comedy/what was of its time and what can no longer be stomached or viewed in the same way.
If you boycott channels/production outputs/allies or former colleagues then you may not have much left. One reason people thought the Dispatches (myself included) was about more than one comedian was because there has been much to discuss around several individuals here and across the pond.
Will I still watch Bake Off? Potentially. I like Alison. Noel I can take or leave.
Rumour about his more hedonistic days are here but he has always denied actually being with Pixie.

I like Noel but I think this Alison person will have me turning off if she is as described above.
