Our oven needs a new thermostat which I'm hoping to get sorted this morning (have bought replacement) so am looking forward to a full roast as we've not had one for ages now.
I've not been shopping yet so haven't yet decided what to go for.

What's on your menu today?

Pulled pork shoulder (Emma Freud’s recipe) with brioche buns, homemade coleslaw, homemade garlic and rosemary potato wedges, tenderstem.
Maybe plum and almond cake afterwards, if I have time.
Enjoy your roast!

Roast chicken, roast potatoes and parsnips, roasted carrots, green beans, Yorkshire puddings and cauliflower cheese. And lots of gravy.

Moredarkchocolateplease · 17/09/2023 07:37

I'm making venison stew. Because it's autumn. (ignoring the 20deg temp outside)

It's a Mary Berry recipe, but I'm dropping the chestnuts because I'm the only one who likes them.

GotMooMilk · 17/09/2023 07:43

We are going for a pub roast! I can’t wait- our local let’s you pay £1 more and have a slice of chicken, beef and lamb 🤤

Islandsadness · 17/09/2023 07:43

Leftover Chinese Grin

SpecialSpaghetti · 17/09/2023 07:44

I am also looking forward to baking a pavlova!
That's the one thing we've all missed the most about having a dodgy oven so the DCs are eagerly anticipating a strawberry pav 😋

Roast pork, roast spuds, yorkshires, carrots, broccoli, cauli. Our first one since about May as dp doesn’t eat roasts etc over summer and over the years I’ve changed my cooking habits - now when it comes to this time of year I’m desperate for a roast, and when spring comes along, I’m desperate to ditch them!

loudbatperson · 17/09/2023 07:47

Roast beef for us., with every trimming imaginable.

I have had a horrid stomach bug this week and yesterday finally felt up to eating again. The plain stuff stayed down with no pain and no problems, so I am going to go for it today.

husbandcallsmepickle · 17/09/2023 07:49

We're having a BBQ for lunch then chilli for dinner. No oven needed although we don't tend to use it very much.

Whattodo121 · 17/09/2023 07:50

Roast beef, yorkshires, roast potatoes and carrots, cauliflower cheese, broccoli and peas. I’ll probably make a rice pudding in the slow cooker as that’s all of our favourite pudding.

BarrelOfOtters · 17/09/2023 07:50

Roast chicken etc. first roast of autumn.

BloddersMum · 17/09/2023 07:50

Salmon ramen today. Hadn't thought about a pud. Now thinking about what pud to make...

HaveANiceFuckingDay · 17/09/2023 07:52

Roast chicken , roast potatoes and Yorkies. Normally we have beef or lamb so chicken is a treat for us

Monkeybutt1 · 17/09/2023 07:52

We are having toad in the hole with mash potato and peas, followed by some lemon drizzle cake I made yesterday.

EffinMagicFairy · 17/09/2023 07:53

Roast pork, roasted veg and apple sauce - first roast since spring.

Beautifulsunflowers · 17/09/2023 07:54

We will have pork ramen today as that’s what I’ve ordered from gousto!
I am looking forward to a good roast dinner though…..maybe be next week!

AlisonDonut · 17/09/2023 07:56

We had been having Veggie All Day Breakfasts for Sunday Lunch all summer but I've forgotten to get eggs in so we are having a Roast Veg Dinner.

Which is basically all the veg I can find in the garden roasted with HappyVore sausages and yorkshire puddings with some gravy.

muddyford · 17/09/2023 07:56

Roast beef. Joint was reduced when I went shopping.

DaisyWaldron · 17/09/2023 08:01

Spanakopita with tomato salad. I might make an apple cake for autumn vibes.

Mum2aTeen · 17/09/2023 08:05

Since it's hot today, we are having fish and chips.
Got some barramundi and just make up some chips.

henrysugar12 · 17/09/2023 08:18

Not feeling too good today and dd is at her dads so I will probably just have some soup.
