I went to post on the thread I was on yesterday but it said it's not taking any new replies. I went to look for another thread but I couldn't find one.

Why did she do it, does anyone know?
Apparantly there was an affair with a consultant. Is that true?

Did she do it for attention from him?
Or was he not fully available for her and she did it to try and hurt him and frame him and punish him?

It's horrific what she did and families have lost their babies and other families left with life long conditions to deal with.

She put her colleagues in an awful position too, time and time again where they had to deal with the sudden deterioration of babies and many of them were doing well and then someone probably a doctor or consultant had to explain to parents about the death of their baby while not really fully understanding why themselves until a pattern emerged and their suspicions grew.

you sound challenged, in every conceivable way, an unfortunate trait to carry.

MajesticWhine · 02/09/2023 21:58

sorry @watermeloncougar that wasn't really meant to be aimed at you Grin

We seem to have touched a nerve, within the little coterie of true believers, how they congregate is quite revealing🦘

@LoisWilkersonslastnerve:
Other than the obvious crackpot conspiracy theorists, I can see why some people are questioning things. Many are focused on the air embolism and insulin incidents which some dispute but the most compelling cases imho were the cases of deliberately overfeeding, the baby that was bleeding and the baby that had impact injuries. The press are making a fuss of the fb searches and post it notes which again some could explain away. People are reading snippets and conclude the evidence is weak when actually, if they followed the whole case, would see the evidence was actually overwhelming. Even the police themselves have said they looked for every explanation other than deliberate harm but sadly realised that's where the evidence leads. It's all so awful and sad. Those poor babies and and their families.

Exactly. The evidence was presented and the jury found her guilty on 14 charges. The threshold for a guilty verdict is extremely high: in a nutshell, there was no other explanation for the deaths and harm inflicted other than Lucy Letby murdering and attempting to murder babies.

It is, isn’t it?

978q · 03/09/2023 18:52

"It is, isn’t it?"

You of all of the clique, would certainly know.

gattocattivo · 09/09/2023 13:21

Good, it must be awful for the parents in the cases where the jury couldn't reach a verdict.

BIossomtoes · 09/09/2023 13:54

Excellent news. Hopefully she’ll get some more whole life terms to add to the 14 she’s already got.

978q · 09/09/2023 14:32

The gov law officers have queered the pitch in both directions, by announcing a Judge led inquiry, before the conclusion of all possible outcomes, prosecution and defence. Quite staggering incompetence.

978q · 09/09/2023 14:51

This from May 2017, is a sad reflection on the competence of the neonatal wards, wonder who the unnamed locum is/was, the Coroner seemed less than impressed with the situation.

It’s more of a sad reflection on the coroner who I imagine will be asked some very uncomfortable questions by the enquiry.

Any idea why, and the Coroner is now a she, the previous fellow retired.

BIossomtoes · 09/09/2023 17:29

The enquiry will call Rheinberg who was the coroner during the period which covers Letby’s crimes. There’s zero point in questioning the current one. Wasn’t he the arrogant bastard who said his service wasn’t the quality assurance unit for the NHS?

What are these very uncomfortable questions he will be asked, you do of course know that it takes a Judicial inquiry to invalidate any Coroners findings, of course you do...you don't think he will be blamed for baby Noah, do you ?

BIossomtoes · 09/09/2023 18:49

This is a judicial enquiry. He’ll be questioned very closely about why he chose to ignore the sudden increase in neonatal deaths at the CoC unit. There were two in 2014.

This is not a Judicial inquiry into the Coroner's findings, that is a separate entity,
