Song that you irrationally hate…

Mine is (I’ve Had) the Time of My Life, from ‘Dirty Dancing’.

It’s like nails on a chalk board and I can’t even explain why. It’s not even the worst song but it gives me rage and I always have to turn over the radio when it’s on.

Add to that any song by Anastacia, although these days she is rarely played on the radio.

I’m hoping that it’s not just me and suspect everyone has “that song” that they just cannot stand, for no rhyme nor reason. What is yours?

Most of my dislikes have a reason I can identify, usually a droning tempo or toe-curling lyrics. However, despite generally liking Cyndi Lauper I HATE Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, and I have no idea why I've taken against it.

I hear ya with that Pink number. A song which has a double negative in its lyrics or title is likely to induce stabby feels when I hear it!

The thing about Sweet Caroline is that it's been adapted to fit better to a sports setting (eg the "come on, come on, come on" bit). Neil Diamond has never been happy about it becoming a "Three Lions" type anthem. I loved it as it was - now, not so much.

Some drivel called Teach Me Tiger. Can't even remember the artist. I think it was circa. 1958 ish. But it's awful and I hate it .

I would add The national anthem. Likewise, Auld Lang syne but I'm not sure if that's irrational, after all they are terrible dirges. Also the NA can eff off with their lyric about crushing rebellious Scots. Put me in the tower, I don't care!
