Song that you irrationally hate…

Mine is (I’ve Had) the Time of My Life, from ‘Dirty Dancing’.

It’s like nails on a chalk board and I can’t even explain why. It’s not even the worst song but it gives me rage and I always have to turn over the radio when it’s on.

Add to that any song by Anastacia, although these days she is rarely played on the radio.

I’m hoping that it’s not just me and suspect everyone has “that song” that they just cannot stand, for no rhyme nor reason. What is yours?

Many of the above, but particularly Imagine and I Just Called To Say I Love You.

Also, What A Wonderful World. Has anyone had that yet?

Mull of Kintyre!

I think that was number one for virtually all of my childhood - it certainly felt like it. Such a dirge. And as if the opening chords weren’t bad enough, a choir and a bagpipe band were thrown in to make it even more ‘exciting’
Then there was the cutesie video of Paul McCartney and his band sitting around a campfire pretending to be just ordinary folk spontaneously playing their guitars.

As you can probably gather, it wasn’t one of my favourites either!

Man I Feel like a Woman by Shania Twain. That line about wearing a man's shirt with a short skirt. Nice definition of womanhood, Shania

And lest we forget, she "colours her hair, does what she dares" - wow, go you, girl! What a trailblazer, eh! 🙄

Wonderful Tonight. Not an irrational hate, though. Entirely rational to hate a song with the plot line “sleazy old bloke gets pissed, and has to be driven home and put to bed”. Boak.

Mr Blue Sky. Have to turn it off. Also Lonely Boy, and Hang On In There Baby. Off with you!

To "hate" a song that is as popular and genuine as Fairytale of New York probably does qualify as irrational.

Of those mentioned so far that Nelly and Kelly Rowland song is bloody awful to me.

Most stuff released in the last five years (apparently classed as music) I'd hate. The charts are swamped with contrived acts (pretty much all k-pop for example). Been ages since I heard a new song I liked.

The greatest live band ever who wrote such a diverse range of songs I find it hard to believe you don't like even one of theirs.

Anything by Ellie Goulding - I intensely dislike her simpering, child-like voice

Anything by Coldplay and Oasis. They just make me want to stab my ears to end the torture.

I can’t stand Queen either. And I’ve had the same reaction - I remember being told I was obviously joking because no one can dislike them.

Literally very one of their songs irritates me in some way but Bohemian Rhapsody makes me and wish I didn’t have ears.

American Pie - I find it so annoying and don't know why.
