Not only did Lucy Letby kill and badly hurt babies…

She also prepared the memory boxes for parents of the dead children. Can you imagine having a memory box with photos and footprints of your dead child which had been taken by his or her merger?

That goes way beyond the murder. I just don't know how the families are coping.

I'm a student nurse and was horrified to hear about the Letby case. However, it was no surprise that management failed to act when concerns were raised. There is a toxic workplace culture within the NHS and wider social care that seriously needs to be addressed. People often witness substandard care or strange incidents but are too afraid to speak up. Unfortunately, people can be harassed or feel as if they're being punished. Leaving them to either stay quiet or move on to another job. I agree, social care needs a huge shake up.

Even once there is an investigation, little will change, because all this is deeply engrained, doesn't go away by just changing a few things at this particular hospital.

@Oblomov23 it's one of the problems of judge led enquiries that there are so many reccommendations that never happen - there were over 150 from the Climbie enquiry

But obviously better to be able to compel witnesses and force disclosure of documents in something as messy and un-straightforward as this
