We had 3 in our old house which was a pain for cleaning but great generally! Now we have 1 & it sometimes drives me mad, especially as we have a teenage daughter. I would love to add another one downstairs for those desperate moments lol 🤣

1 and there's 5 of us. Husband has a pee point in the garden 🤣

DiscoBeat · 16/08/2023 01:50

4 but one of them is teeny tiny

caringcarer · 16/08/2023 01:52
  1. 1 in ensuite, 1 main bathroom, 1 second floor shower room and 1 downstairs. It's great no one ever has to wait to use the loo or shower.

Cloakroom in the UK usually means a small downstairs room with a toilet and sink in, no shower or bath .. Often off the entrance hallway somewhere. They don't usually have a space for coats as well and who would want to hang their coats in the downstairs toilet anyway,

Calling it a cloakroom is confusing as it really usually has nothing to do with clothes storage but there you are ....that's us British for you,,,😄
Just waiting now to be told this is not true in Scotland/Wales etc ......

Thank you. Well I have one then off our entrance hall.

I didn’t mean hang coats in the same room as the toilet 😂 I said that I’ve seen on vintage house plans a room (near the front door in the entrance hall) usually with a window, labeled cloakroom, and off of that room is a door to another, smaller, room with a toilet and sink.

3 for 5 of us absolutely essential

Waynettaaa · 16/08/2023 03:18

Three -

Bathroom used by DH, DS & DD
Ensuite used by DH & Myself
Downstairs used by myself and any visitors.

Mine has a room with a sink in it and coat hooks then the toilet is in another room off that room.

Just one here, the in main bathroom. Four adults, sometimes five. It's not easy getting ready for work / college; we have to negotiate our morning time slots before we go to bed, depending on what time everyone needs to leave the next day.

You have a proper cloakroom then!

RocketIceLollie · 16/08/2023 08:07

Just the one loo here between three of us. I'd love a downstairs loo though. Will hopefully get that elusive 2nd loo when we make our next loo 😁 genuinely shocked at the number of loos some of you lot have on here 4+ 😯

Also 7, find it a massive nuisance as I’m always discovering that people have been using a loo unbeknownst to me and they have been left in a bad way!

How many bedrooms do you have?

MamaBear2210T · 16/08/2023 08:27

3

BarrelOfOtters · 16/08/2023 08:27

prior to renovating we had 5. One was rather grandly called the gardeners loo on the house details. It was an outdoor lav. Surprisingly useful, especially during covid, I rather miss it.

now have a downstairs loo, family bathroom and en-suite. Another loo upstairs next to the one I. The family bathroom (again v useful) is now the hot water tank and airing cupboard. 5 bedroom house.

  1. This is our first home, lived here 8 years. Now we have a little one in nappies and I'm thinking we'll definitely want more space and more loos soon! Hope to move but probably won't be for a few years yet.
RecklessBlackberries · 16/08/2023 08:36

Three, in a three floor townhouse. Having a toilet on each floor of the house would be a non-negotiable of my list for any future moves.

AlfietheSchnauzer · 17/08/2023 00:20

2 bed house, 2 toilets. New build social housing,

This thread is a magnet for people with big houses or small houses with a lot of loos.

Farcry66 · 17/08/2023 00:37

Currently 1, and since my partner moved in, it's a nightmare!!!! We are in the process of buying a house and the thing ny 9 year old is most excited about is that we will have 3 toilets and he will never have to wait again!

Anderson2018 · 17/08/2023 04:48

3 bedroom house and 1 bathroom. It already drives me mad and we’re about to become a family of 4. Not that the baby will be using the bathroom any time soon, but the thought of sharing a bathroom with a husband and 2 grown boys one day sounds like hell so we will definitely have to move house when they are older.

slashlover · 17/08/2023 05:12

One. I've never lived in a house that had more than one.

Hibiscrubbed · 17/08/2023 07:24

Ten. Ten to clean.

Rooroo42 · 17/08/2023 07:31

We had 4. 1 WC downstairs and 3 full bathrooms upstairs for a family of 4, recently removed one of the bathrooms completely in order to turn the box room into a full sized bedroom. We are a family of 4 and it just felt excessive and a waste of space. Hubby and I use one bathroom, my teenage girls have the other then the downstairs is used by everyone. Although grew up as a family of 5 with one bathroom and we all managed fine

HelloSquire · 17/08/2023 07:32

Be interesting to hear of how many loos to how many bedrooms
But 7 ???
Do people here live in stately homes
