How Many Toilets Do You Have?

We had 3 in our old house which was a pain for cleaning but great generally! Now we have 1 & it sometimes drives me mad, especially as we have a teenage daughter. I would love to add another one downstairs for those desperate moments lol 🤣

4, it's too much when it comes to cleaning!

HaveYouHeardOfARoadAtlas · 15/08/2023 22:08

1 in the house and 1 in the garden. We use both!

AuntieMarys · 15/08/2023 22:10
  1. There are 2 of us. 3 showers too.

4, I have never lived in a house with less than 3... how do you cope if someone is in there and you need to go ? 🙈

It is a pain. You knock and the person using the loo hurries up . You also might ask someone who has started to run a shower if you can use the loo first . Having one bathroom for 3 adults is particularly irritating when one of them ( looking at you DH) likes to have a bath every evening that lasts at least an hour or so.

Every night we have the routine of DH announcing 'I'm going for my bath now anyone need the bathroom first ' Followed by me thinking I don't really need to go but I probably will in the next hour plus I may want to get ready for bed before DH has finished his so I'd better stop what I'm doing and use the loo/bathroom now . Sigh, the routine can get quite annoying of I'm in the middle of doing something. Then again DH barely uses the bathroom in the morning which is when DS and I generally have our showers .

One between the four of us.

Gellhell · 15/08/2023 22:35

4 in our family home (if you include the annexe) but 1 in the crash pad I actually spend a lot of time.

3 for 2 of us...downstairs loo and 2 bathrooms (but we have people stay semi regularly and it's handy to both be able to shower at the same time if we're in a rush). Didn't particularly look for this many but they are useful!

paddleboarder12 · 15/08/2023 22:40

4, that’s how many I’ve had for the last 30 years in 3 different houses.

BMrs · 15/08/2023 22:41

5 but not all are used

Spookyseasonmum · 15/08/2023 23:57

2 but only one is used because we forget the second is even there half the time

kwetu · 16/08/2023 00:12

We have three, but it's ALWAYS me who has to replenish the loo roll!

ExitThroughTheGiftShop · 16/08/2023 00:21

1 between 4.

Vetoncall · 16/08/2023 00:32

4 and there's only 2 of us. One WC just off the utility/boot room and then 1 main bathroom and 2 ensuites. The second ensuite only ever gets used if we have guests staying.

I lived in Canada for a few years and houses there often have more bathrooms than bedrooms. DP's parents' house is 4 bed/7 bath. They have a converted basement and there's 1 ensuite and 1 shower room down there, 1 WC on the ground floor, and then 1 main bathroom and 3 ensuites upstairs.

BoBoHill · 16/08/2023 00:33

We have four, our house used to be a B&B so all the bedrooms are ensuite. Everyone is responsible for keeping their own ensuite clean!

RosesAndHellebores · 16/08/2023 00:37

More than one each.

comfyshoes2022 · 16/08/2023 01:22

Seddon · 16/08/2023 01:24

We have 2, and anywhere between 2 and 5 adults staying here at any given time, and the second one is hardly ever used. Only in emergencies, really. People just prefer the one in the bathroom.

Mumof3girlsandaboy · 16/08/2023 01:34

2 upstairs
1 downstairs

LadyWiddiothethird · 16/08/2023 01:42

1 downstairs.1 bathroom and 2 en-suite.

NotMyCatLady · 16/08/2023 01:47

3 for 2 of us. Downstairs loo, main bathroom on 1st floor and ensuite on 2nd. I'd prefer the ensuite to be a standard bathroom accessible from both 2nd floor bedrooms really. Might try and squeeze another ensuite loo up there at some point.

SomewhereWithSomeone · 16/08/2023 01:48

Four. One downstairs, main bathroom, our en-suite and Jack and Jill bathroom mainly claimed by our daughter.

user1497787065 · 16/08/2023 01:49

Five, three en-suite, family bathroom only used to bath the dog and a downstairs loo.
