Completely disagree. If we are to encourage people in to politics, their family homes should not be targeted. No wonder the calibre of our elected representatives has never been so low.

LlynTegid · 03/08/2023 10:28

Agree other than for the serial killer Boris Johnson, in order to make a citizens arrest.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 03/08/2023 10:29

Is he on holiday yet? I think it's a brilliant idea, but not if his children were in the house. Doing it when he's away would be great.

No this is not ok. This is his home and his poor children will be terrified if they see this.

I agree with that, in principle, but he's got a lot of mansions. If the family were there at the time the protesters would have been facing armed police.

On the basis that they were really just covering a property he owns I think this is pretty reasonable. Certainly better than stopping ambulances.

cocksstrideintheevening · 03/08/2023 10:32

No it's not. His family home? Dick move.

RancidOldHag · 03/08/2023 10:33

I think Greenpeace's best protest was back in the 1980s, when they put a bucket of mud/sand from Windscale in Whitehall and the police/fire brigade treated it as a full-on toxic emergency. Proved their point completely.

(I don't think they should be going for people's houses like this)

sashagabadon · 03/08/2023 10:33

Terrible idea once again

Twoshoesnewshoes · 03/08/2023 10:35

Not okay to make it personal like this, it doesn’t help.
do it at Whitehall.

Only one of them. So if they weren't in that particular one at the time 🤷‍♀️

Sirzy · 03/08/2023 10:41

I agree with the majority here.

it also raises massive questions about his security that they where able to do it.

AnSolas · 03/08/2023 10:42

THIS is how you do a climate change protest

No

Hell no

When did it become socially acceptable for me to intimidate your family because I dont like the way you are doing your job?

Please organise the Strike at the factory gates.

heldinadream · 03/08/2023 10:43

Sunak and family apparently en route to California on holiday at the time. So I think fair game and timing carefully chosen.
Well played Greenpeace.

So in principle domestic terrorism is fine once there are no police around to shoot at the terrorist

Well played Greenpeace.

I can kill you and your children where you sleep.
So think about that the next time you go to vote in a way I dont like.

Why do you think that type of politics is a good idea?

Yes, that was definitely my point. You are certainly arguing in good faith.

Not as terrified and his grandchildren and great grandchildren will be when the planet is burning around them

loislovesstewie · 03/08/2023 11:02

Well here we go again; it seems that anything is OK because at some point the world is going to burn.
No, it's not OK.

It’s about time greenpeace did things like this they seem to be motivated from a place of genuine concern and not just out to cause disruption like some other climate change protesters

They clearly chose their timing he’s not there . Good for them

DomesticatedZombies · 03/08/2023 11:16

Terrible, protest in Westminster, this sort of thing is what loses supporters.
I still haven’t forgiven Greenpeace for destroying the ancient Nazca Lines

they are using the same tactics as TRAs and Trump supporters except they excuse it because of climate change. These people are looking for away to legitimise antisocial behaviour.

Greenpeace apologises to people of Peru over Nazca lines stunt

Culture ministry says it will press charges against activists for damage to world heritage site as UN climate talks began in Lima

TinyRebel · 03/08/2023 11:20

It’s a great publicity stunt but I doubt it will have affected Sunak in any way. If he’s anything like my MP, this property will just be a constituency address - he and his family are unlikely to ever spend a night there.

whereaw · 03/08/2023 11:26

I don't think that the climate chance activists realise that they are doing more harm than good. They are putting people off their cause more and more with every ridiculous stunt.
