No this is not ok. This is his home and his poor children will be terrified if they see this.

Rishi is on holiday.
But think how terrified his servants will be.

Lol this made laugh! Good point 😂

TRexTara · 03/08/2023 11:31

I don't see the point in any of these protests. We are all aware of the issues. Their time and energy would be better spent lobbying for change.

I don't think that the climate chance activists realise that they are doing more harm than good. They are putting people off their cause more and more with every ridiculous stunt.

I know.

cryinglaughing · 03/08/2023 11:33

No, don't agree with this.

AnSolas · 03/08/2023 11:34

donquixotedelamancha · 03/08/2023 10:58

Yes, that was definitely my point. You are certainly arguing in good faith.

but he's got a lot of mansions.

so rich enough not to be in politics.
But he got elected to the job.

If the family were there at the time the protesters would have been facing armed police.

Armed Police are there to give the apperance of safety. In an ideal world no police should be needed as people would accept that he was voted into power or become politicians themselves it they think they can do a better job.

On the basis that they were really just covering a property he owns

Not his work place
Not his car
Not any of the investments he owns
Not his driveway
Not his garden

Its a home, it is his home.

Certainly better than stopping ambulances.

That was direct harm to a limited number of citizens by people willing to go on record saying the deaths which result are acceptable collateral damage.

Acheyknees pointed out the direct harm to all citizens

@Acheyknees Today 10:27

Completely disagree. If we are to encourage people in to politics, their family homes should not be targeted. No wonder the calibre of our elected representatives has never been so low.

ScribblingPixie · 03/08/2023 11:34

Not okay to do this to anyone's home. Doesn't work for me at all.

Secondwindplease · 03/08/2023 11:38

TinyRebel · 03/08/2023 11:20

It’s a great publicity stunt but I doubt it will have affected Sunak in any way. If he’s anything like my MP, this property will just be a constituency address - he and his family are unlikely to ever spend a night there.

Actually they do. Sunak took his daughters to the cinema in Northallerton recently and he is often seen in the town running errands.

I’m as livid as hell about Tory climate policy but this kind of protest is unacceptable.

Secondwindplease · 03/08/2023 11:39

Also, the reporting on this has basically advertised his address (which is easy to locate if you know the village etc), so now they are even more of a target.

Wendysfriend · 03/08/2023 11:39

No sorry I don't agree with this. It's a person's home. It's his children's home, his partner's home. No one has the right to trespass onto another person's property and do this.

I really don't see the funny side in any of this. Having your home targeted is actually quite frightening.

buckeejit · 03/08/2023 11:41

Hell no.

Perfect28 · 03/08/2023 11:42

For the majority who seem to disagree with this action I have two questions, how do you feel about sunank's extreme stance toward climate change action and secondly how do you suggest people get their voices heard and action on this subject?

Dombasle · 03/08/2023 11:42

Absolutely pathetic.

About as effective as putting a traffic cone on top of a bus shelter.

These protesters all have two things in common - a low IQ and no actual desire to work on improving the planet just to perform silly stunts like this.

morelippy · 03/08/2023 11:43

Just makes me even more convinced Greenpeace are a bunch of complete idiots and as such what they stand for

I hope their locked up like the common criminals they are

VinoVeritas1 · 03/08/2023 11:45

No, it’s not right to target his family home. Bang out of order. Westminster is where you should make activist statements. If his children had been at home that would have been terrible for them. I know they timed it for when they weren’t there but it’s frightening for them nonetheless if they find out that this can happen to their home.

Seriously, the way most environmental activists choose to publicise their cause at the moment has the reverse effect.

loislovesstewie · 03/08/2023 11:46

For crying out loud, protest at Westminster not at private homes.

NeverDropYourMooncup · 03/08/2023 11:47

'We can get to your home. Where your wife sleeps and your children play. We could have set cameras, laid bombs, poisoned the water tank, but because we chose to, we brought in enormous amounts of equipment and just showed you and the world that your home is not safe from us. And the more gullible will think 'oh, how amusing' without thinking for a moment that we're sending a message to your deepest fears'

What's next - gaining entry and dangling banners all over his daughters' school playground?

CloudyMcCloud · 03/08/2023 11:47

I’m surprised at lack of security. Ok it’s just an ineffectual and irritating protest this time but it could be anything.

Wisenotboring · 03/08/2023 11:48

No, I don't think targeting family homes is 'the way to go'

AnSolas · 03/08/2023 11:50

I do not give a flying fuck about his personal extreme stance toward anything because he is not a dictator.

I suggest people get their voices heard and action on this subject by doing it the old fashioned way and standing for public office.

If that is too hard, support Individuals willing to stand for public office by participation in democratic assembly etc.

loislovesstewie · 03/08/2023 11:53

And if anyone says ' we live in a democracy' I would add ,that we do and he is entitled to his views too. Or is democracy only for some?
[ No I don't vote Tory]

FrippEnos · 03/08/2023 11:55

Its not far off what the anti abortion and peta protesters did in attacking the homes and families of people who did things that they didn't like.

SlipSlidinAway · 03/08/2023 11:57

Am absolutely gobsmacked that they were able to do this. You'd expect a constant level of security around the PM's homes - whether or not he and his family are there. They could be planting bombs.

Iwasafool · 03/08/2023 11:57

TinyRebel · 03/08/2023 11:20

I thought they lived in Downing St.

Yusay · 03/08/2023 11:58

If you really care about climate change (or any political issue!) your priority should be having top quality politicians trying to sort it all out.

The quality of British politicians in all parties is the worst it’s been for centuries, and that is because they and their families are constantly harassed. In short: no one competent wants to do the job anymore.

Slow handclap for the activists who just made it even harder to recruit good people into running the country. Highlighting the location and weak security of our Prime Minister’s family home?

Idiots.
