What is it?

Mine is fruit cake, you can keep your chocolate cakes and cupcakes with mountains of butter cream - I love a fruit cake with a cuppa

Pear and brown butter

Yes or jam sponge with cream. I do like a cup of tea with a piece of cake. Too much buttercream is the bane of modern baking.
fruit slice is lovely. Apple slice. Yumyum is better than donut often crispy cake. Good shortbread.

Victoria sponge. Or coffee or carrot - but definitely not chocolate or toffee

Carrot cake

Coffee and walnut. Every single time.

Coconut and raspberry or a black forest gateau, a good one!

I love a coffee cake. but minus the walnuts it always seems to be adorned with!

Chocolate cake is something I can take or leave, and I'm not fond of fruit cake. Most people I know aren't either. At the last two weddings I attended the "wedding cake" was an assortment of chocolate cake, apple cake, carrot cake and sticky toffee pudding cake. Not a piece of fruit cake in sight.

I just made a marbled mocha cake. I haven't made one in years so I hope it's good. It's for someone else though so I won't know if it's good! 😆🍰

Dundee cake! Forgot that one. Divine. Haven't made one in a long time.

Yes, I also have a scuzzy, guttersnipe liking for cheap shop cake, like iced fancies, Swiss rolls with pineapple filling that looks radioactive, or the very bottom end of jam and ‘cream’ birthday cake offerings.

At the homemade end of things, very plain loaf type cakes, like lemon cake, with or without poppyseeds. Or a finger of very damp, boozy fruitcake.

Carrot cake with proper cream cheese icing. Dh makes me one for my birthday every year.

But, there isn't really a cake that I don't like tbh. My SIL makes the most delicious apple and lemon cake, and I'm partial to a traditional Victoria sponge, or a coffee and walnut, also anything dense and almondy...chocolate cake is meh - if it's chocolate I want brownies are far better.
