What is it?

Mine is fruit cake, you can keep your chocolate cakes and cupcakes with mountains of butter cream - I love a fruit cake with a cuppa

I love Hummingbird Cake - carrot cake with pineapple, walnuts, cinnamon and banana. Invented by the Jamaica Tourist Board in the 1960's to celebrate bananas.

I may have won first prize with one at my local village show a few years ago.

I won the year before with Ottolenghi Apple and Olive Oil cake with a maple syrup cream cheese frosting...heaven on a plate.

Coffee and pecan cake.
Victoria sponge cake with proper cream and jam filling and cream and strawberries with light dusting of icing sugar next.
Cardamom cake with cinnamon butter icing 🧁

Lemon drizzle, coffee cake, or my chocolate-cherry-cream cake (like a modern Black Forest gateau, basically). The flavours have to be really intense, though: mouthpuckeringly lemon, espresso not latte, and lashings of cherry syrup and dark ganache. (Er…not all at the same time, obvs…!)
