I'd go to TKMaxx/Homesense for a rootle, they have beautiful random cups/mugs and you can test the weight/feel of the handle/width of the rim (all important factors for that perfect cup of tea, right?!)
I have a preferred cup for Yorkshire tea, one for mint tea, another for tea when I'm gardening, tea in the morning vs the evening...it's a science.

You are going to think I am mad but Morrisons do a really lovely bone china bird mug. It has a bird painted on the outside and the corresponding egg on the inside. I have a robin one, blue tit and another one. They are lovely to hold and drink from (and I am a fussy mug person).

Denby are very classy and the glazes are to die for. I have slowly collected every colour.

Could you repair it with Sugru? Did that with two favourite mugs recently and it worked great.

Have you got a Homesense or TK Maxx near you?

I have 4 Denby ones and 2 Christmassy Keith Bruner ones from Homesense. They have some jazzy ones too!

Yes, Whittard china mugs are brilliant. Decent capacity and very delicate without being fragile.
