God this thread is like porn to me 😳

Me too! I thought I knew about china but there are lots of links that are new to me here. Also, it's lovely to know how many other people enjoy their tea or coffee more if it's in a specific mug or cup.

I absolutely love these, thanks for posting.

I have specific mugs for specific drinks at specific times of day.

A very big, thick, tactile Waitrose mug for my morning latte.

A big half-pinter with my initial on it for my afternoon big cup of builder’s tea.

A really beautiful pink oriental design Anthropologie mug with a monkey on it, for my evening chai.

Then there a few that DH rotates for my nighttime peppermint tea. He’s got me ones from Spark Company lately. I have Saint Frida and a Medusa one that says ‘Petrify the Patriarchy’ Grin

My fave are from Cream Cornwall. Proper bone china and everyone always asks where they're from

@JamieFraserskneewarmer that shop is going to break me! Far too many beautiful things 😄

@NecklessMumster , the thin rim is absolutely the most important part! 😊

I am LOVING this thread. Here's my contribution of my recent discovery:

https://www.dunoonmugs.co.uk/Nevis-0-48L/catalogue/587/ I am loving my Nevis mug - it's big - tick, not too thick - tick, handy lip for drinking - tick.

An elderly relative insisted on buying it for me when we saw it in a garden centre. I had to ring her two days later to tell her how much I am loving it. And I think I'm going to buy more as soon as I've got rid of some of the horrible ones taking up space in my kitchen!

Please STOP posting links!
You are feeding my addiction. I have no room in any of my cupboards, but I’ve seen so much I now want to buy.

LunaNorth · 28/07/2023 13:13

I’ve just bought two from that Stokes Croft site.

You buggers.

Repeat Repeat made my favourite mug - it's this shape - it's bone China and the perfect size of mug and handle for me:

They're beautiful!

Am I the only person who thinks that it's positively unnatural to ask for mug recommendations and not specify whether you want bone china/porcelain or stoneware? They fill such different niches. It's like asking someone to recommend a garment for your bottom half and not saying whether you want trousers or a skirt.

Glad you found some lovely picks though OP.

My stoneware pick would be anything from the wonderful but spendy Highland Stoneware https://www.highlandstoneware.com/shapes/mugs/ or something abstract from Denby and my porcelain pick would be this late lamented beauty from H&M, now relegated to pen holding duties due to an Unfortunate Incident with a quartz worktop. Always worth looking in the cheap shops for mugs because they often have some lovely designs. I've had some great ones from Sainsbury's.

Oliver Bonas is lovely but a bit small. I like my tea

Tesco had ones almost exactly like these but without the Star. I bought two then liked them so much I bought two More!
