I also recommend House of Disaster for mug wares. I have a fox one and a blue one that has a secret cat on the inside. They are beautiful pieces and I always feel a little bit fancy using them.

I feel your pain. I dropped my favourite cat mug from Anthropologie and still haven't got over it. I scan eBay every so often for secondhand mugs but still no luck 🙁

Ruthietuthie · 28/07/2023 03:21

@Sprig1, I also have the Morrison's bird mugs and absolutely love them. Something about the fineness of the china edge makes them so nice to drink from. And the illustration (including the little egg inside) is absolutely lovely.

Emma Bridgewater half pint mugs. Perfect in every way! Love this thread, thanks OP and sorry for the loss of your mug!

My DH buys me two denby mugs every Christmas, and I love them all (and mourn those smashed by the children). These are my favourites, so beautiful in real life and the perfect size and weight for drinking out of.

I hope your new mugs bring you joy OP.

This is the most beautiful mug and a perfect size for a large cup of tea or coffee. The glaze almost glows - it doesn’t feel just printed on.

This my favourite mug. Unfortunately it can’t go in the dishwasher.

I want these. I have seen and felt them for real. They feel fine.

Does anyone else have different mugs for different times of the day? Or just me 😳

Some of my mugs are definitely morning mugs, but others are better for an evening cuppa.

I was about to recommend exactly the same one! I have a few of these now and they're gorgeous.

I had my first one for about 12 years and it was still as pristine as the day it was bought (didn't go manky and scratched inside like some mugs), and it would have lasted many more years if the stupid cat hadn't knocked it off the draining board :-(

I immediately bought a replacement as I couldn't bear to be without it!

HoppingPavlova · 28/07/2023 08:39

Denby. Lots of options.

I agree! I have a dinner service in this deign, shockingly expensive so it only comes out on special occasions, but I love it!

Ooh so lovely to hear! I’ve got a couple of other colour versions as well (the white background one and another white background one with hedgehogs etc on it) and my most favourite other thing, the blue bowl which is my breakfast bowl.

Similarly I think the mug got broken a while ago and had to be instantly replaced.

I think I originally saw them in John Lewis, but they stopped selling them ages ago so now I’m at the mercy of various sites with varyingly expensive postage. But it’s all worth it. Very glad to meet another like minded person!

Oh wow! The glory! They also used to have it all in a now closed down kitchenware shop in Guildford near me, and I used to go in occasionally and just marvel at its gloriousness. You also have very excellent taste!
