This is the perhaps worst thing I've read. God almighty.

[Massive content warning for abuse and child death]

This story is appalling. Every part of it is worse than the previous part. This poor, poor girl. What a horrible short life and awful death she had. God almighty.

Yes, it's truly awful all that poor Amber had to suffer. Heard it on the radio this evening and I could hear the emotion in the reporters voice, she said she'd never had to cover such a horrific story and I can't recall ever having heard such a dreadful set of events. So so sad.

Absolutely dire. And she had been raped 5 months before by a different man before her brother did this. I really hope they get life - it is truly appalling. At least 3 men abused that poor child. X

2ndMrsdeWinter · 25/07/2023 21:22

Amber’s story is heartbreaking: let down by so many people again and again during her short life, and abused in the most vile way in death. May her little soul rest in peace.

Lifeomars · 25/07/2023 21:23

I read this and found it almost incomprehensible in its awfulness, she must have died in agony and terror and even after that her suffering did not end. It's not all men, but good grief, men are in the main responsible for the most heinous of crimes. That poor girl, seeing her lovely smile in that photo is heartbreaking

Willmafrockfit · 25/07/2023 21:24

perhaps connor was trying to copy his dad who was only just imprisoned

Willmafrockfit · 25/07/2023 21:26

the poor foster parents - they must be in bits.

LiloP · 25/07/2023 21:30

Just awful. So many disgusting men in her life.
her biological father is a rapist
she was raped a few months before she died
her brother killed her and even in death she was abused 💔💔

Thelonelygiraffe · 25/07/2023 21:32

I agree. I was talking about this to ds earlier. Poor girl - what a life.

What is wrong with men????

There's a special place in hell for her rapist, her 'brother' and the guy who found her. Revolting specimens.

LiloP · 25/07/2023 21:32

Northernsouloldies · 25/07/2023 20:03

It wasn't the dad, an older man happened to chance on finding Amber dead defiled her remains and tried to hide her body in bushes.

The biological dad was convicted of rape

Puffalicious · 25/07/2023 21:41

I too wondered why she was in a children's home and he in homeless accommodation? It's relatively local to where DH grew up and both these places are notorious. I know all the reasons foster care can break down, but the system let her down so, so badly. There's no excuse for her brother's behaviour, but there are always reasons: the sooner we as a society consider intergenerational trauma & how we tackle it the better.

Poor sweetheart, RIP. A tragic life. You're at peace now - I hope you find my precious mam up there for a hug and a cuppa.

Blackbyrd · 25/07/2023 21:44

Did Amber not have two much older sisters? Why the hell did no one accept any responsibility for her? The whole family an absolute disgrace

Frankola · 25/07/2023 21:46

I read this earlier and actually burst into tears. This is one of the saddest things I've ever read. That poor girl.

Solonge · 25/07/2023 21:58

I was confused by the fact both Amber and her brother were in effect adopted by the couple who had fostered them since they were very small children but at the time of the offence, Amber was living in a childrens home and her brother in a homeless shelter.

Americano75 · 25/07/2023 22:00

I knew what this would be about before I even clicked on it.

My God, that poor girl. This isn't that far from me either and I can't bear to think too much about it.

Yeah, I've been wondering about this myself.

I feel like the news is getting more and more horrific these days. This and the boyfriend who killed his pregnant partner and children plus their friend. What is happening in this world?

MinnieTruck · 25/07/2023 22:06

Does anyone ever know whether these awful people have a reason for taking someone’s life? Not that it can ever be justified but I read stories like this and just think, ‘why?! Why did he kill her?’ ‘Why did the man that found her in the park abuse her further even when she was dead?’

I always have so many questions and just no answers. Rest in peace Amber💐

RosaGallica · 25/07/2023 22:07

It is always girls and women at the bottom of the pile. Every make in this country is fully empowered to kick out at the nearest female, and every single male is more valued than girls and women even on higher social levels.

RIP Amber.

vinoandbrie · 25/07/2023 22:08

Fucking men.

RIP Amber, may God bless you and keep you. I have no words, just tears.

Sugarfree23 · 25/07/2023 21:21

The foster Dad said they couldn't be left alone together. That tells you lots.
It wouldn't surprise me if the brother is the reason she moved out.

I agree. That's what I took from that comment. But where was her support??

Do you not think that girls and women have more reason? Given the violence and low status that is deemed to be acceptable for us?

Bellagio40 · 25/07/2023 22:10

I feel sick. That poor, poor girl. Those men don’t deserve to live

Sorry can you be a bit clearer? I’m not sure if it’s because I’m too tired but I don’t understand your point?

Sadly, throughout history such devastating events have indeed occurred and were frequently inflicted to women and children.

Toobusytoocare · 25/07/2023 22:21

Absolutely sickening …are these men born evil ? Poor Amber what a horrible life and death she endured.

Mirabai · 25/07/2023 22:27

My heart goes out to her foster parents - she sounds like a lovely girl.
