Will you ‘get told’ by respected climate scientists? Or do you know better than them too? Or just don’t care?

Your lecturing would never make me change my eating habits.

as for the scientists? It would very much depend on their manner.

Cider and vinegar comes to mind.

Ilovelurchers · 25/07/2023 19:13

We had sweet and sour pork (I made it but it did involve a jar!) And rice. And crispy duck with pancakes (bought from Sainsbury's)

Two types of meat! I agree this is not great, and I am trying to reduce the amount of meat we eat as a family in general. But tonight was a celebration, so I am afraid we just went for it with some of our favourite foods.

Really?

Do you watch the news?

Would food insecurity and dangerously high sea levels make you change them?

No. And that’s despite living a hop and a skip from the beach.

I do have 54 solar energy panels on my roof though.

Well you can’t say you haven’t been warned.

Home made pasta puttanesca, but with wholewheat tagliatelle instead of spaghetti. The sauce has cooked slowly for a couple of hours and is tasting good.

Roasted aubergine, red and orange pepper, courgette, red onion and tomatoes, all blasted in the airfryer with med herbs, garlic and lemon juice and will cook some pea pasta later to serve with and a spoonful of pesto mixed in.

easy go- to meal

That sounds so fresh and delicious.

Batiqueattic · 25/07/2023 19:25

Home made 9 veg soup (2 massive bowls) and a crusty brown roll.

applecatchers36 · 25/07/2023 19:27

Baked chermoula chicken with rice, carrots and courgettes and yoghurt and tahini dip

icebearforpresident · 25/07/2023 19:30

Sticky chilli beef burritos with lime yogurt. Husband and I usually eat the same 7 meals on a weekly basis so we’ve been getting Gousto boxes for the last month of so for some inspiration and to try something new. I can’t justify the full price but we had a code to get 20% off for a few months. All the recipes have been good and we’l try most of them again.

Rocket1982 · 25/07/2023 19:31

Mixed veg goan curry

Absolutely filthy but delicious Mac and cheese. So much cheese. So many calories.

No judgement cos I love both of those things but I’m really curious about the logistics of having both! Is one person having a maccies and another fish and chips or is everyone having a combo? How do you decide which chips to have?

We’re on sausages, chips and beans tonight

Haha! Sorry, I should have clarified...
Two of us had chippy and the youngest had McDonald's as he will eat fries but won't eat chips.
My eldest had fish and chips, I had sausage and chips and the youngest had a chicken select meal from McDonald's Smile

Iamtheonwandlonely · 25/07/2023 20:12

I had steak, mushroom, onions, broccoli, stuffing, mash and gravy.
Very nice even if I say so myself.

Sweetashunni · 25/07/2023 19:16

Do you watch the news?

Yep.

I'd love to know what you eat, where you shop, what holidays you go on, what car you drive, what energy provider you are with.

Because you are not squeaky clean. No-one is.

Giving up roast dinners won't save the planet ffs.

Don't know if you are being goady or if you are just bored.

But I know I am now. Give it a rest.

Motheranddaughter · 25/07/2023 20:17

Steak and chips with mushrooms and onions

Equatorcreator · 25/07/2023 20:28

We had a fish pie served with green beans and garlic bread.Getting loads of great ideas from this thread, love a dinner one🤗

GolgafrinchamB · 25/07/2023 20:31

@Sweetashunni I’m not defensive, I don’t eat meat. Can’t stand it.

I’m objecting to your disengenuous pearl clutching about “90% meat! How awful!” when we had a third vegetarian or vegan meals posted and not everyone eats meat all the time.

How many hearts and minds do you think you’re convincing with your hyperbole?

I don’t eat meat and even I found it tedious.

Crikeyalmighty · 25/07/2023 20:31

M&S fishcakes, Greek salad and McCain triple cooked chips

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 25/07/2023 20:32

Made chicken soup in the end.

Am I in trouble for that? Even though one medium chicken fed 4 people over two meals, and I've saved the bones to make stock which will contribute to a stock?! Confused

Crikeyalmighty · 25/07/2023 20:33

@LobsterCrab that creamy garlic chicken is one of my regular go toos - on cauli rice as I'm low carbing and gluten free
