I think it's understandable that @Sweetashunni is concerned about climate change and people's health. It's a growing concern and in the coming years we'll all have to start re-evaluating our lifestyles in many ways (just to also note - I'm a meat eater and I'm worried about it!)

So although it's misaligned with the lighthearted intention of this thread, it's understandable that people are concerned, so shall we just be forgiving and move on?

@Sweetashunni - message heard loud and clear - we're eating too much meat, we all know it and you are unlikely to change any more minds beyond this point.

Thank you. As always ‘if not now, then when?’

M&S crab linguine
Side of mushrooms and greens

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 25/07/2023 18:19

I need to use up the leftover (magic Mumsnet) chicken. The kids want chicken soup but I'm leaning towards a Thai curry as marginally less prep.

Liverbegone · 25/07/2023 18:20

Leftover waga mamas from yesterday. I got the kare boruso(?) But ate all the tofu yesterday as knew it would be soggy yoday. Finished it off with a tropical push pop.

kalokagathos · 25/07/2023 18:21

Phd protein shake with a dollop of peanut butter :) That's because am off to a bootcamp for 7pm so needs to be easy digest 😅

wendywoopywoo222 · 25/07/2023 18:21

Pasta with cheese and marmite.

My favourite lazy tea.

PickAChew · 25/07/2023 18:27

I've just made a spicy pork ragu thst DH and I will have with gluten free pasta. Ds2 is having suitably beige and crispy salmon fishcakes and chips.

shocked to see how much meat is being consumed, if I’m honest. It’s 90%+ of the meals on here

And 🙄

Emmamoo89 · 25/07/2023 18:44

Sweetashunni · 25/07/2023 17:30

I counted the first page and a half then stopped but if your full count is right that’s still 66%! We only need to eat it twice a week max, we should be eating twice the amount of vegetarian meals than meat consuming.

And no I eat meat every day. I won't get told by someone on MN how much meat I should be consuming lol

Emmamoo89 · 25/07/2023 18:45

Beef Sunday dinner 😋

Will you ‘get told’ by respected climate scientists? Or do you know better than them too? Or just don’t care?

Manzana · 25/07/2023 18:46

puff pastry base with slices of tomato, slices of brie and walnuts and salad leaves

I don't give a fuck what someone on here tells me. I enjoy eating meat👍

Tell your kids that when their future literally goes up in flames. Tell them you loved a roast, and feel no shame, and won’t be told. 👍🏻

JobzaGoodun · 25/07/2023 18:49

I mentioned we were having lamb burgers tonight, I don't remember mentioning what we've had/ are having for all of the other meals this week, meat or otherwise.

Soggysummer2023 · 25/07/2023 18:54

Chilli, turkey one in the slow cooker for me and the kids (minus actual chilli), quorn one for DH, cauliflower rice for me and normal for everyone else.

LobsterCrab · 25/07/2023 18:54

Creamy garlic chicken (Pinch of Nom recipe), mash, broccoli.

DelilahBucket · 25/07/2023 18:57

We had Pinch of Nom chicken in black bean sauce (for the meat haters we used less chicken than usual and more veg). DH and DS had normal egg noodles, I had slim noodles because I'm fed up with not being able to fit into my clothes 🙄

cptartapp · 25/07/2023 19:04

Lamb and garlic kebabs, cheese pasta and green vegetable mix.
Bit of a mish mash.
